I sure wouldn't like to do that job... wouldn't surprise me if a bunch of them get beat up...or worse.

The Colonization Begins: Germany Sends 160 Tax Collectors To Greece

Since the European colonial state of southern Bavaria Sachs (formerly known as the insolvent Hellenic Republic) no longer even pretends to be anything less than a pass-thru funding colony of its creditors, its creditors (European banks and various insurance companies) have sent out the first group of colonial scouts in the form of German tax collectors. Also, since as reported previously, Greece will literally have to collect taxes to fund the Second "bailout package", which is merely a front for on ongoing Greek bailout of European banks (recall that it is Greece who is partially funding the bailout Escrow Account), said tax collectors will assist their Greek counterparts (who will rather likely miss their quote of becoming 200% more efficient in 2012) in collecting money from Greek citizens to pay off German banks.

Remember, this is NOT Germany doing this... it's the banks controlling Germany.

I don't know that much about it, but I know that about a third of Greek workers are government workers, which means they don't produce anything. And the Greeks had unbelievable benefits like retiring at 50 and month long vacations, etc.... Who paid for all this? Okay, so the banks need money. But there's another side to the story, no?

Greek requests to the Australian government for entry visas has shot up, I bet those Greeks are the one's who are going to have to pay the bulk of the taxes, Australia will get flooded with 'black' Euros.

They work 20% more a week on average than anyone in Europe or the US. And no, not everyone is retiring at 50. And month long vacations, that is everywhere in Europe... it gives jobs to the tourism industry.

Who paid for all this?

The Greek people. Whoever loaned money to Greece knowing this made a bad investment, they should lose their money, plain and simple.

And did you know that MOST (81%) of the ``bailout`` money went to the banks?

So the ``bailout of the lazy Greek people`` BS line that the MSM keep spouting is a total lie.

If the Greek controlled their government, they would have got out of the euro 2 years ago. But no, banksters puppets run their government... putting them even more in debt with each new ``deal``.

Who cooked the books of Greece to enter the EU? Not the Greek people but the sellout Greek government along with Goldman Sachs.

The Greek people, just like the American people have NO SAY WHATSOEVER in how the government is run.

= most stupid country ever....seriously...fighting each other? sheeple...they need to overthrow their government but no, they just destroy their capitol....and u know why - because they are aware that they are 100% dependent on europe, if they would not do what europe wants (and get kicked or kick themself)...they get broke as hell and will go back to low-level standart like the east-block or even worse...and they are too much inured with their current living standart....

so make your choice...get your lazy ass up, dont cry and say "nazi germany europe dictatorship" and beat each other, face the harsh cuts and keep on working...but their attitude is like most southern countys....."what i have to work more...impossible....i will not work if i have to work more"....

AND READ A BOOK...how can they let their politicians get pure gold from the EU and they suffer...they have a serious corruption problem....waaay beyond the MSN propaganda that the everage jo is not paying taxes....

So you're saying that because of a bunch of teens do this... the whole of the Greek people must be the banksters slaves?

Sorry but :

1. The bailout money go at 81% to the banksters, not to bailout any ``lazy Greek``.
2. The ``lazy greek`` work 20% more than anyone in Europe. 42hres compared to 35hres/week in France and Germany.
3. The Greek economy doesn't need a damn cent from Europe in bailouts, the banksters do.
4. A lot of Greek want the hell out of Europe but the unelected bankster government won't let them.

But you are right on one point, the Greek (like all western countries) have a problem of CORRUPTION...

Greece needs to do 3 things :
1. Default on debt
2. Kick the corrupt government
3. Go back to Drachma
4. Issue Drachma bonds.

Of course it will destroy their standard of living, but it's already destroyed or soon to be... so better be free with nothing than a slave with nothing.

And you call the Greek lazy. PLEASE. Most of them have been working WITHOUT SALARY for the last few months, some of them for more than a year. So just TRY to call them lazy again.

If you say the Greek are lazy, I'm looking forward when Japan and China ask for their money and the MSM call the American people lazy.

sorry but not only teens fight each other...

& their standart of living is too high....and now the loop collapsed....

- they should make a choice...be dependent on europe or resign the union ...in both cases they have to work much much more than they do now (what means that they have less food, no fancy cars, no new computers in schools...gee, look at russia - when they reached that standart they are on the level they can hold)....

but i dont see any willing to chance in any of the directions, just blabla and some talk...and looking for excuses like "the money goes to the banksters" - sure, but thats where the greeks got it in the first place....you dont play with the mafia if you cannot pay back...same with their lousy infrastructure....thats not a result from the cuts...they have way too many people working for the state, way too high wages in some branches, a hugh military they cannot pay for, hardcore corruption, focused too hard on tourism and so on.....!!!!!

Well I will not be surprised when those 160 tax collectors start to show up hanging from trees and in street corners.

When people are desperate they will take desperate measures after that, they most protect their country from usurers.

another good one vitch.

yeah i wouldn't want to be those people because frankly i'd be surprised if any of them get out alive. perhaps that's the real point in sending them, to see how the people react?

I do agree that the biggest problem for Greeks is that so many work for the Government. But to refute the rest.. France for instance has one of the youngest retirement ages in the World (younger than Greece as well) and take more vacations than any other country. The people I know from France averaged 2 months of vacation a year.

Which honestly isn't a bad thing.. I believe in a post-industrial society we should, by now, be at the point where we do retire young and get ample vacation time. But our society is obsessed with perpetual growth..

They CAN'T make that choice. They don't control their government!!! How hard is that to understand?

...in both cases they have to work much much more than they do now

No they don't.

and looking for excuses like "the money goes to the banksters"

It's not an excuse, it's the TRUTH.

sure, but thats where the greeks got it in the first place.

And those who gave it to them NEED TO LOSE IT.

..they have way too many people working for the state,

That is true... so is of most of Europe. That's what happens when you have socialism.

way too high wages in some branches

Like in any country.

a hugh military they cannot pay for

They are forced to have it because of NATO. They could get out of it... but the US probably wouldn't let them.

hardcore corruption,

Like all of our countries... Italy and the US are probably worse than Greece.

focused too hard on tourism

Well they don't have much to export...

Germany needs to keep those poor tax collectors home... and just don't give Greece any money... but the banksters controlling Germany want debt slavery and the Greek gold.

And Greece is only the first step. Next it's Portugal, Spain, Italy... France, Germany itself, the UK, Japan, the US, Canada and many others.

Canada and many others.

I think not, Canada is not pristine, but we are not even close to what Greece or other EU countries are like.

We have more natural resources than any of the countries that are in trouble or put together.

Not even close.

Nobody wanted the stupid blasted euro in the first place...

Waste of time,resources and money.

I so look forward to the day when I can sit here in cosy Canberra, Australia and rip on all those lazy Americans who have let their sovereign debt spiral into the stratosphere.

No! Sorry! The only reason why the US is in mega-debt is because you're all a bunch of lazy fat cows, who eat too much, consume too much, whinge and whine about fuel prices being too high (get a smaller car, how hard is it? I been paying over $5 a gallon for years), whinge and whine about their president while telling those no-good protesters in the Middle East they should stop their remonstration and live content under their dictators.

Americans = the biggest bunch of hypocrites on this planet, bar none.

Hmm... interesting thought.
Imagine the pictures of german revenue officers being lynched in the streets... broadcast prime-time on german TV.
This would sure cause a slightly stronger reaction than seeing german flags burned.
I hope you're wrong.

OT: I agree with the OP. Good post, have your usual S+F.

An interesting historical fact for this topic..

Single currencies are nothing new and in fact, several such things have existed in Europe in the past. In ancient times, the Greeks were very good at it, but in modern times (since the 1870's) every union or currency agreement they have been part of they have been one of the reasons for it's collapse.

Latin Monetary Union

This ciris in Greece is entirely of their own making. As someone has pointed out, they have for years enjoyed very good retirement packages, had a large portion of their people working for the Government (and in many cases giving family members phantom jobs which paid but required no work at all), cooked their books to hide a massive budget deficit and also are the most corrupt nation in the EU.

Maybe if they had a sense of budgetary responsibility coupled with a worth ethic that doesn't reinforce the "entitlement without work" ethos then they wouldn't be in this mess.

Coming soon to a town or city near you.... Amazing what people will put up with. The Greeks are already rioting in the streets and they think theses tax collectors will be able to collect anything but their asses up off the pavement or worse?

LOL! So you think Australia will not have the same thing happen? Ignorance is indeed bliss! Idiots have no clue how the fiat monetary system works every single one in history has ended very badly its a mathematical certainty. Australia's will be no different. Start educating yourself now instead acting like an idiot and making a fool of yourself.

Greek Economy almost always had to have the European support in order to exist .

Since Greek War of Indepence , nation of Greece has had it's fair share of economic difficulties .

Sadly ,year 1977 was the year when I bought my last " made in Greece " product .

Those tax collectors will be a waste of time .

They should go to Switzerland , that where all the Greek money already went .

Spot on..Agree totally...

It is also essential that Greece hangs on to its gold..while defaulting..

And Spain ,Portugal or whoever is next on the list should do the same..# the IMF and World banks..
If they have bad debt, they should cover it/write it off just like in the real world..Isnt it a "free market" economic world..or just when it suits them..

This EU system is dying....Put it out of its misery fast...

IMO get rid of usary forever..its evil..and does not work.....this monetary system will not/does not work.
It is a temporary system and its life span is close to ending..Its just a matter of time when ALL NATIONS will go down this track. There will be no exceptions..
The Dominoes are starting to fall..If Spain goes then Portugal will go then Italy then................
