World Wide Seismic Event...

I wonder if the increase in quake activity in the last ten years could, in part, be attributed to the increase in monitoring and reporting. There certainly were not as many seismic sensors around the world ten years ago as there are today. Probobly not an answer, but something to consider.

Yes, there would be slight increases do to improved instrumentation. No, that won't account for the dramatic increase in the past decade.

That is the specific reason I didn't bother analyzing anything past 1900...I knew that would muddy the waters.

EDIT NOTE: AND IT DID! I filtered the data to 6.0+, the first half of the 20th century didn't change much (i.e. big enough to feel!!!), but the second half leveled off. SO, some of it IS instrumentation.

I have an observation regarding HAARP. May be only a coincidence but hey..you never know with these things.

I've been looking at the HAARP data from their last emission and it looks like it started picking up right around 5:00 UTC. I then took a look at Yellowstone's data for the same period and it seems an event was recorded near the same time. Take a look at the 9/21 feeds for the 5:00 UTC. Pitchstone, Lake, Pelican, Madison, Denny, Mirror, Maple, Soda, Mammoth and Moose are all registering the same event near the same time as HAARP.

I am convinced that there is a connection between the HAARP recordings and seismic events. However, I am NOT convinced that the connection is HAARP is causal to the seismic activity. I am of the opinion that the magnetometers are picking up an energy disturbance that prefaces, or is contemporaneous with, seismic events.

With all this data we could start selling quake options. I'd like to purchase a December call option at 5.1. What's the strike price? If you name a area or location the price goes down. The more general the higher the price of the option. So just to hedge my bets I'm placing an order for a December put option at 4.9. I'll have to read the charts some more to get locations.

Primarily because I should not have been comparing activity prior to the Richter with data after the Richter. Also, I had some mistakes.

So, please look this over and give me your feedback. At the low end of the magnitudes there definitely is evidence of better measurement techniques increasing the number of recorded events. But once you get past a certain mag, that should not be the case.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this.

I have never looked at this page,...but looking for my first time, can I assume that all the screens showing data, would normally display somewhat horizontal lines, normally, and that all those screens with the up-down is the activity, and that all the countries are showing it?

I mean,..I havent felt anything yet...is this a result of the 8.0 in japan transmitting vibrations to all the sensors, , or sun activity, or is it real sismic data for each individual area measured?

Dumb question maybe but I just dont know.

That ain't right....I mean, that's REALLY not right.

This quake might be a trigger for other major quakes throughout the rest of the world. Keep an eye on Yellowstone!!!

HAARP had a big spike ~18-20 hours ago, abating ~8 hours ago and now levelling off to a relatively even keel.

Yesterday was spastic, two days ago was somewhat active, three days ago was pretty quiet. The 23rd, on the other hand, had some nice little spikes of activity
