WASHINGTON — Roseanne Barr said Thursday she's running for the Green Party's presidential nomination – and it's no joke.

The actress-comedian said in a statement that she's a longtime supporter of the party and looks forward to working with people who share her values. She said the two major parties aren't serving the American people.

"The Democrats and Republicans have proven that they are servants -- bought and paid for by the 1% -- who are not doing what's in the best interest of the American people," Barr said.

I'd think about voting for her. She scares the hell out of me so I'm sure she'd do the same to the rest of world.

Roseanne? Heck yeah. If for no other reason, I'd love to see some interesting stuff thrown into those stuffy politician meetings.

It's all a comedy act, anyway, right? She's the perfect fit.

Can you imagine , she could for sure get more votes than Newt.
That would get the TV ratings up.

This thread should go in the doomsday section.

Barr would stand no chance of getting a meaningful vote even for dog-catcher. The woman is a genuine train wreck. She went from one of America's favorite women to nothing in one song.

i don't think she is a "train wreck". her views make perfect sense to me. she doesn't seem qualified for the position but i would honestly rather see her in office than romney. for real.

Finally, a candidate we can feel good about!

I guess, since Ron will not be nominated, and probably not run independent...

If Ron is not on the ballot she has my vote, you betcha...

Who would balance the ticket as VP?

How about Stephanie Courtney? Stephanie Coutney link here

The argument isn't about her green thumb, it's about her chances to get a vote. Nobody would vote for that slob.
