Roseanne Barr 2012: Actress Seeks Green Party Presidential Nod

WASHINGTON — Roseanne Barr said Thursday she's running for the Green Party's presidential nomination – and it's no joke.

The actress-comedian said in a statement that she's a longtime supporter of the party and looks forward to working with people who share her values. She said the two major parties aren't serving the American people.

"The Democrats and Republicans have proven that they are servants -- bought and paid for by the 1% -- who are not doing what's in the best interest of the American people," Barr said.

lol imagine that. obviously i agree with what she is saying and it's always good to see someone influential speaking out about the bs in politics. so what are your thoughts? would you vote for Rosanne?

I'd think about voting for her. She scares the hell out of me so I'm sure she'd do the same to the rest of world.

A real American.....she can even sing at the White House for us.

American politics are already a joke but there has to be a line that should not be crossed.

Roseanne? Heck yeah. If for no other reason, I'd love to see some interesting stuff thrown into those stuffy politician meetings.

Barr would stand no chance of getting a meaningful vote even for dog-catcher. The woman is a genuine train wreck. She went from one of America's favorite women to nothing in one song.

what ??? She has a large farm in Hawaii and has organic produce trucks that service the area..She is a macadamia nut farmer or something..at least she is doing something productive..unlike all the other idiots on the tube.

i don't think she is a "train wreck". her views make perfect sense to me. she doesn't seem qualified for the position but i would honestly rather see her in office than romney. for real.

Finally, a candidate we can feel good about!

I guess, since Ron will not be nominated, and probably not run independent...

If Ron is not on the ballot she has my vote, you betcha...
