Actually they are the same thing. You PAY money for coverage today in case you need it later. The only difference is what you are covering. At the end of the year if you do not need the coverage, they both KEEP the money. Is that not correct?

Comparing auto insurance and health insurance is way off.

Comparing auto insurance and life insurance is a closer example. It pays out when something goes wrong...not to do maintnance or prevantitive care.

And of course...auto insurance loves to just "total" out the car because it is too expensive to fix. GREAT...I want my health insurance to be able to "total" me out...because I'm too expensive to fix.

Florida still has 50 delegates in a winner take all primary.

To date it will be the biggest delegate win for the candidate who wins. For someone to say they are "skipping" Florida is just someone admitting defeat...and shows they aren't really that serious about getting the nomination.

I thought it was well established now that Ron Paul is just trying to spread his message and trying to get a speaking position at the convention.

We have to keep in mind that Florida forfeits half of their delegates this year as a penalty for them moving their primary up, so that could be one of the considerations by some to hold onto some funds in that state..

It is still 50 delegates in the end, and Florida is still a key and influencial State. Winning it is not just about the delegates, it demonstrates the candidates ability to compete in the State, and winning it will gather more support in the State throughout the Republican primaries. I just don't believe that you can simply 'skip' a state like Florida and be serious about the nomination.....

I think that they are all trying to understand why Dr Paul is so popular and changing their course to accommodate what it is the people find so attractive about RP and his message.

I don't support debates allowing the audience to applause, I criticized gingrich for fishing a response from the audience to gain momentum in the debate. This isn't about the applause from the audience, there are actually people here on this forum whom believe that Ron Paul has a low chance of winning the nomination for numerous reasons. You cannot always rely on the opinion of other Paul supporters to fit your world view, this isn't going to change Paul's chances.

Well I suspect that that is why Gingrich changed his direction tonight and attempted to show some odd kind of compassion in general during this debate, he was doing what he has heard as the high road, the only problem is that for him it did not work as his constituents and followers want him to be the self assured attacker they know and love.

Ron Paul and Santorum are retarded if they try to contest Florida.

Santorum and Gingrich aren't even eligible for 564 delegates.


Ron Paul's campaign is smart, they know they can't win Florida and won't be getting 1 delegate, it makes more sense to put their money where they will get delegates.

I think. Paul was polling last so I guess that
is why he ALWAYS gets the least amount of time.
Romney stomped Gingrich tonight
all the way around.
He will win FL and all 50 delegates.
Paul came in second followed by Newt
and then Santorum, your mileage will vary.

This is true, Paul had a low chance in Florida from the Start, but my feeling about his campaign is that he didn't even try to address the fundamental issues with his electability among Southern GOP voters, and him skipping Florida, pushing aside South Carolina, not good. I'm saying all this because there are many Paul supporters whom still think he's a strong competitor in this race, and I don't see this.

There are moderate States coming about after Florida. There's Nevada, Minnesota, these States I tink Paul will do rather well in, Maine, considering Paul's outcome in New Hampshire, will probably work well for him. It is possible for him to win the states after Florida and come back as viable nominee again, the the kind of momentum that Florida gives every primary and general election, I just don't see even those States helping Paul in the end.

yes you are right, Gingrich is the one that consistently feeds off of the audience applauding his egotistical responses.

If Ron Paul doesn't connect with debate viewers that mean he doesn't connect with anybody but it seems he has connected with the second most amount of people who have voted in the three states so far.

Skip a state? He's not skipping the state. He is just not going to heavily invest in a state, where it's highly unlikely that he'll win. He's not skipping anything, just picking his battles based upon his purse strings.

The only way you can skip a state is not getting on the ballet. Let's not forget about the "front runners" that are "skipping" several states because of that fact.

If a voter needs to be swayed in the weeks before their caucus vote, then it's nothing more then a current Popularity Contest. Personally a voter should know by now who they are supporting. There are only 4 people running....

Let's not forget that Herman Cain won the Florida Straw Poll...
