Indeed. If USA gov want to arrest anyone in the planet with internet acess they can just use some copyright excuse to do that.

And about the slaves to prison... This sounds so like Roman Empire...

This and other reasons I will never ever go to USA or use a flying plane that need touch american territory to get to others countries... I don't have idea what the USA cops/whatever could do to me if they just don't like my face in the airport... I say here.. USA is a dangerous place for any tourist to get close these days.

I just checked Filesmonster, Oron and Crocko. Business as usual.

Not sure why the porn webmaster told me Oron would be closed down anytime now.

I guess we have to go back to Torrent, Emule or Rayfile (Chinese). Remember to fully encrypt all your hard drives also.

And "why" exactly do we need to encrypt our hard drives? Do you build bombs or have a collection of c***porn? Seriously...just wondering...it's over the top and fear mongering, IMO.

I have sensitive work material on my computers. This would include social security numbers as well as other personal information of many people.

This is why I encrypt my hard drive.

Because: I do NOT endorse those file hosters who re-sell warez and make profit on the basis of filesharing. I know that some of you deny this..but it's a FACT that many of those file hosters made a HUGE chunk of PROFIT from the warez sharing.

yeah ok but these companies are providing a service that people choose to pay for. They have big costs like bandwidth to cover so they cant let everybody on for free. They also organize the downloads so its easy to find. Users get to download fast and at less risk becuase nobody can monitor what they download like they can on p2p.

the companies illegally hosting copyright material are taking the risk which has become clear in the last few days.

subscribing to usenet is another option again your paying for bandwidth. there are free usenet search engines but it can be a pain to find stuff. Thats why sites like newzbin are popular becuase they make it nice and easy to find what you want and download it.

I think it's awesome. One big step in fighting pirates and fighting against the people behind those Hosters who make excessive amounts of money through it.

I wonder if and when Rapidshare gets killed, that's the biggest and most used One Click Hoster.

All the crying from the pirates is funny though und then they start blabbering about 1984 and Fahrenheit 451 because they think stealing media is their god-given right
Idiots...

If you are serious I pity you, however I suppose you're trolling.

I just wanted to post about how annoying all this is. It's no different from what anyone else has posted ... but at work we use services like this to share large files.

This is going to cause huge numbers of problems for us! How does one of these services know the difference between my work, and uploading of illegal content? Furthermore, why does anyone think this is going to solve anything? I'm dead against piracy, but this is just something I don't understand.

Can anyone actually explain how this makes sense?

Edit: Okay, I've read some of Zorgon's posts, and yes there are numbers of people that are just wondering where their pirated stuff is going to come from next. It still doesn't make me any less dissappointed. The business model has unfortunately rewarded these sites for hosting pirated content and they've profited from it, which is all kinds of awkward.

Crazy world.
