Kim Jong Un appointed as "Supreme Commander" over all of North Korea

edition.cnn.com

Kim Jong Un has assumed "the supreme commandership" of the North Korean army, state media reported Saturday.
The power was transferred to him on October 8 at the behest of his father, Kim Jong Il, who died this month, said the state-run Korean Central News Agency.
The announcement came a day after prospects for a shift in relations on the Korean peninsula were dashed when North Korea said a change in leadership would not mean a change in policy.

There's more to the article but basically he was appointed on Oct 8th but waited till just recently to announce this.

"We solemnly declare with confidence that the South Korean puppets and foolish politicians around the world should not expect any change" from North Korea, the country's National Defense Commission said in a statement reported by KCNA

What are your thoughts on the subject ATS members?

Shew.. ok same news.
For a second I was reading it as Kim Jong (assuming Un) was "un-appointed" and it was just poor grammar by Op displaying a very dangerous thing. I was thinking military control of NK lol.

As it is, I think it's kinda what we figured or already knew.

It's psychological posturing from an isolationist nation...arbitrary titles are arbitrary.

That said...there is a reason for it. What is the reason?...And why is the reason allowing piss poor populace brainwashing, inadequate populace attention and suffering among the people of North Korea?

And why do they call South Korea 'Puppets'?

Not defending North Korea...but there is a reason they are freaking uptight...why not question instead of fear mongering...?

And if they have nuclear capability...then who the hell leaked it to them...a closed country?!?!?
