Shoppers unhinge doors at US mall to buy new Nike shoe

www.bbc.co.uk

Police officers were called in to break up fights and restore order at a mall where shoppers sought to take advantage of the overnight sale of a new Nike shoe.

The disturbance started inside Carolina Place Mall in North Carolina after shoppers queued to buy a retro version of a classic Air Jordan model.

Witnesses said as mall officials opened the doors, crowds of people pushed their way in.

It's happened. The world has officially gone mad. The global financial system teeters on the edge of oblivion, mass unemployment prevails and unpayable debt grips the lives of untold millions. Ordinary people struggle to afford even simple gifts for their loved ones. Perhaps the season of good will will at least bring comfort?

So what's the latest cause of mass hysteria, a rabid mob breaking down doors? A threat to people's freedom? A blazon terrorist atrocity? Strange lights in the sky? No, it's the latest fashion accessory. "I want it first — get out of my way!"

In these final days leading up to the fork in the road for humanity you are going to see extreme polarization of the masses.

You will see and hear of unbelievable stories of compassion, love, forgiveness, and understandning.

And then there's this.

When all's said & done it's tragic that some folks are so in the palms of the corporations that they've got nothing else to live for. Am I going too far when I say it even reminds me of Gotham City in The Dark Knight? (Let's hope The League of Shadows doesn't represent the Illuminati...)

Anyway, thanks for that note of sanity.

Apologies for bringing such gloom. I offer reparation in the form of a link to something wonderful.

It doesn't bear thinking about. Katrina x 10,000.

Those who say 'Bring it on' ought to watch the video again. That's for shoes. What happens when it's for food?

It really says something about the dignity of the starving masses in Africa, doesn't it?

I am so glad I am not the only one who saw the obvious reference to the illuminati in The Dark Knight.
It is all in your face if you have the eyes to see.
It is like this for a reason.

It is extremely likely that the store tapes are being data mined with facial recognition software....

and digital profiles are being compiled on the 'persons of interest'
and there will be future detentions of the store perps. on things like routine vehicle stops..

the law enforcement now has the indefinite detention policy in place and the ability to classify every one of the store mob as 'terrorists'

But... the ACLU and other Orgs. will counter that the Law is busy 'profiling'... which is illegal

It has more to do with upbringing and culture than national character. The riots in the UK were no different.

I believe it was just irony. (It's often a risky tactic!)

is it any different from coming to blows over the newest toys, pitching a tent for an iphone or Modern Warfare 3? This is why the "elites" will never feel even a little bit of sympathy for the commoners. So easily led, so easily distracted by baubles and trinkets. I hope those Jordans are ale to muck are able to muck around in the sh*t once it's hip deep.

There was an Air Jordan pop-up ad on that video you linked.

How sad. The great American zombie story.

Christmas violence over buying toys in short demand has long been with us. However here is one affected man who learnt the error of his ways addressing Congress in order to introduce an alternative to Christmas. Congress seemed to approve.
