Again the US can send an extradition request to any country we have agreements with, including the UK. Its irrelevant if he is in Sweden or not when
we do it.
Why?
Because contrary to claims, he is not captured on a battlefield and is therefore not under the jurisdiction of the CIA or the military.
Secondly, the US Supreme Court has made several rulings dealing with the patriot act and kidnapping of foreign nationals.
Third any crimes Assange is covered under is Federal NOT military, so again no military involvement / tribunal or gitmo.
He will not face the death penalty since he has broken no US laws that would qualify him for it.
Why is all of this continually brought up by Assange and his smear, err legal team? Because under EU laws, a country can refuse a valid extradition if
the country requesting has the death penalty and intends to seek it for the case.
The CIA prisons and methods used, as well as Gitmo, have pissed Europeans off to no end, and they have every right to be pissed. However, since
Assange cannot be a part of any of that mess, again its done to sway public opinion and in reality has absolutely nothing / no bearing on Assanges
situation.
Assange is being a whiny little bitch about his problem in Sweden and is doing everything he can to convolute and confuse that case with anything else
in hopes of avoiding going back to Sweden.
His entire the US is evil position is based on nothing that has ever or will ever pertain to him.
The reason he chose England? Because he is popular in that country and the UK, since they were involved in Iraq and Afghanistan, has a low public
opinion of the US government right now.
His motive are personal and nothing more.
