Just to further the discussion you began...
I will say this, you may say it is to escape the world, and I don't disagree...
But, it will consume many people beyond hope.
Many people are so consumed with it, it becomes their livelihood.
When sports fans know more about a teams statistics than the laws passed through CONgress...
When sports fans pay more attention to a television broadcast than their family...
You and I both know that the television is used to divert attention away from the real happenings.
How else can you explain all the ignorance and apathy in today's society?
I blame entertainment....or more specifically the television programming.
Sports or whatever you need to call it.
Need I say more?
When is an "escape" actually a total denial of events?
When should we pay attention to our surroundings?
OR should we try to continually run from our problems?
I hope you understand my sentiments.
And I apologize if I de-railed this thread...
