I make everyone I know a custom blow egg ornament every year. This is the first one I have done so far. I am behind this year! I tried a new technique this year, I painted on a clear coat of glue to try and strengthen the eggs, but it's somewhat created unwanted lines and bumps, but from a far you really can't see that part.

I will add a surf board and maybe an umbrella with towel before I am all done. The white cup and the beach has significance to the person I made this one for. I also add a copper to silver hanging wire with beads or tiny bows to hang from the tree.

What do you think? Any suggestions for the rest? I try to keep with Christmas themes.

I'm cracking up here!
Perhaps the glue is not so good.
Also you can try other types of
paint. You can make paint with
food coloring or try watercolors.
I'm such an egg head.

Good job - how about an ATS
egg.

Santa has pepperoni nips!

Cool idea. You empty the egg first or is this ornament a cat owner's worst nightmare?

Oh wait, it's blown glass and not an actual egg? I'm confused!

Haha!

I use acrylic paint, but I did the white glue under the paint... I usually spray it at the end to seal it...The next one I'm skipping the glue part.

Yeah, the nips got a little big when I dabbed to big. Oh well, Santa is a big man, so ya know. LOL!

It's a real chicken egg, I drill a hole in the top and bottom then blow the contents out of the egg, so it's just the shell now. I then rinse them out with cold water and let them dry, so they don't smell funny.
