The Japanese seem to have the most fun aboard the ISS. Japanese astronaut Satoshi Furukawa has accomplished what so many only children on Earth have unsuccessfully attempted

Successfully playing a team sport all by your lonesome. In this case, baseball.

Hate to be the guy that has to "phone home" and let them know why half the instruments are now nonfunctional

We're really hoping Furukawa doesn't break any windows playing ball in the house

With the constant barrage of horrible news inundating this, and other alternative media outlets, threads like this are a breath of fresh air and a much welcomed momentary reprieve. That really put a smile on my face.

I think I prefer him up there playing ball instead of his old post at the fukushima emergency cooling override switch.

Fantastic video! Nice to see a little fun in space. Now if he had a friend and a table it might get even more spectacular

This is a WIn thread because it made me giggle like a school girl, and I am (in theory) a full grown man.

Great find!

For a mere $20 million dollars US, you too can play with yourself in space.

Wait, that didn't come out right. But you know what I mean.

When an Earth-bound player makes a flying leap to catch the ball like that, sometimes it looks like hitting the ground could be painful. I see that in space, this isn't a problem!

What about that British game of 'snooker'? that huge table with all those balls? that might be fun, they would have to be really big corner pockets!
