Right the young man you are referencing to as being a kid has been apologetic already so that shows he is a lot more grown up than you two little kids with a inflated IQ ego. Apology is not for my benefit it is so he our you do not come across to other readers of this thread as immature argumentative little kids other ATS members who have or would like to join this debate are put off by this excessive argument in which you are even trying to argue with me ? who was simply trying to bring the discussion back on track.

This was interesting. I don't how affective they are but I always enjoy their vids. No one knows who they are. But I believe someday they will find a way to make some of their claims happen. When that day comes I will be laughing at the nay sayers and TPTB. It reminds me of the vid I say where some EU protestors had made their own drones and were watching the cops. Turn about is fair play.

Anonymous = Bunch of losers trying to feel important in their vapid and desperate lives. It gives the failures a little meaning to pull little stunts and have little plans like this, let the kids have their fun.

1.) It helps to put a 'reply to' or 'quote' so we know who you're talking to
2.) i never referenced the OP as being a kid. I said hackers are usually kids, or at least start that way - whether he is or not is a moot point so please do not quote me incorrectly
3.) i wouldn't be surprised if i were older than you. If you're talking about me (who knows?) then i do not have an 'inflated IQ ego' as you put it. I have a level head, and see things from both sides. I put my viewpoint across as does anyone else. If you're offended by peoples opinions, don't look at forums.
4.) Your post is very hard to read, you have little punctuation and some of your lines read like gibberish. Do not take this offensively, just re-write it so it's intelligible.
5.) Anyone is welcome to reply in any thread, no one is stopping them. If you think a thread about Anon is not going to cause heated discussion then i suggest your research them a little more.
6.) The OP commented that he doesn't appreciate disrespectful posts from people he doesn't know, yet he supports and shows solidarity for a group who have to no problem with sending your grandpa or kids hardcore porn or gore? Irony again?

It's funny that a bunch of tech geeks from around the world are the heroes in a war that cannot be won with guns and bombs. Personally, I'm encouraged to see them at work.

If you have your anti-virus definitions current then you have nothing to worry about. This "virus" isn't really a virus since it doesn't replicate, and is more worm-like. It isn't that sophisticated, and is just a rehash of Bifrose/AAJX backdoor that hit Facebook not that long ago.

It basically injects itself into an IE process, and establishes contact with a server in Egypt, which allows whoever is communicating with it to control the victims' machines. It is able to record keystrokes, and manipulate the machine in pretty much any way imaginable, and is also designed to kill your anit-virus/anti-malware software.

A worm like this would be very annoying to become infected with, and may be hard to get rid of, but it is possible once you know how to do it. The best advice I can give to anyone who does not wish to have their machines participate in the upcoming attacks is simply to update your anti-virus/anti-malware software. If you don't have any, then you could already be infected, but get some anyway.

Those responsible for security at the larger social media sites have already discovered the trojan as well. So anyway, it isn't as sophisticated or undetectable as some have made out.

We may not be talking about the same thing.

Edit:
actually I'm fairly certain that you are describing something unrelated to any of anonymous' actions, but i know for a fact that the worm you are describing came before the planned date of Nov. 5.

For all of those who are defending, or supportive of, a cyber attack on Facebook, then I have to ask you why ? If you don't like Facebook, then that's fair enough, but why do you want to prevent others from enjoying it ? This just seems like cyber-fascism, dictated by a few sad-acts who live their life with a chip on their shoulder and a grudge against everything.

Think about this for a second. How it attacking a free social media site that allows users to connect and communicate globally, fighting to protect your rights or freedom? It doesn't make sense unless......

You consider the millions of people basically addicted to facebook. Now you attack that site, and spread porn, and infect other computers into your botnet, you'd attacked a target and millions of people would be willing to support legislation to restrict your internet freedoms so you can't attack sites like that.

This is what anonymous is. A government run operation to justify the insane restrictions being placed on the internet as of late.

Just as selling my credit card information on the internet doesn't help me AT ALL, infecting my computer with a porn spreading virus via a botnet that could be used for ANYTHING, this is no way helps me, protects me, or makes me want to support them. It convinces me (if I wasn't already convinced) that ANON IS TPTB.

They are who they claim to be fighting.

Don't believe me? Look at their actions and kindly explain how they benefit ANYONE other than the government.

been saying this since last year when all this anonymous 'hype' started

personally i wouldnt be the least bit surprised if this was the brainchild of a 3 letter agency who went and recruited some shady hackers from a defcon or something.

so how is some virus taking control of MY computer, so someone who wont show his identity supposed to be helping me?

i fail to see how anonymous hacking peoples facebooks or computers or whatever, to use at their discretion, for their own purposes that they believe in, which may or may not be anything that the victim believes in, is for my greater good somehow.

but im supposed to believe its all ok and good and i should cheer for it, because people who wont say who they are, and wont say exactly what they are doing (unless i just missed that part), are telling me its ok?

great sounds super legit.

or, it sounds like the exact sort of corruption and secrecy that they are claiming to fight against (at least thats what i understand they seem to want, again, could be wrong).

maybe somebody could clear that up?

What I'll say is that this thing is smart.

So your anonymous aren't you? Just a quick test no bad intent just if you are who you say you are its a VERY simple one... but it'll fool most wannabes so here it is...

In and IP you can only have numbers from 1-255 why is that?

I'm on facebook, everday...to network...and MANY of my friends have been jacked up with porn...but i haven't received ANY. I learned a long time ago....dont click on links that are unfamiliar to you...especially those that start with http and not www. I also blocked people from posting links to my wall because of that reason. Anyway...even if you DO get a virus....all you have to do...is RE-INSTALL windows. Burn all your important files to disk, and REFORMAT the hard-drive...several times..if need be, then...do the re-install. What's the big deal? Heck, i've got ALL the windows programs....from 95 - Vista..just in case.
Even the anti-virus programs aren't 100% virus blockers. They MAY even be in on the virus attacks. Who makes money without return customers? All part of the game. AVAST is GREAT...but has it's flaws. I dont run ANY virus protection programs...simply because i'd rather re-install. I don't even use the firewalls that come with Windows. I ALWAYS turn them OFF...along with the updates. Dont know why, but i feel like Microsoft...ALLOWS them or has something to do with them...and gives you a false sense of 'protection'. You're NEVER protected while on-line!

Don't get me paranoid please. I saw some n00d chick on facebook yesterday that a lot of people had commented on. I am guilty of clicking on it to view it and the comments, but I didn't post anything to it. Surely if there is a virus worming its way through that stuff it can't infect with me just viewing it? right? guys..?
