T-minus 40 mins and counting.

I can see the tone there is starting to become one of fear.

Word is:

100+ riot
200 on standby
M-4s and Rem 870s cracked out and jacked up
Water cannons with 5% bitrex
4 Portland waste management trucks standing by to haul away the junk in the park.
They have moved everyone from non essential holding at remand to county.
Oh, their surrounded as well.

They've been surrounded all day. They know that.

The rally is preaching linking arms, peaceful resistance, stay strong, and enjoy yourself.

Lol

Finally took to my advice on shields. What they need to do is make a wall with shields and to have staffs/ unsharpened spears. This will make a nearly impenetrable defense, and won't seriously injure police officers. Also, mobile protesters armed with NON spiked clubs on motorcycles, scooters, and bikes would allow for flanking.

If only I were in command. We would be sitting on the White House lawn.

Really you a teen age boy, are going to lead a nation of pissed off protestors to battle against the machine, march across the country, and end it on the White House lawn?

Yes if only you were leading this thing, you would have them all arrested for trying to fight the police with staffs and moped cavalries armed with blunt objects and stuff. I have no doubt you would succeed.

There appears to be more spectators watching the line of police forming and the protesters in the parks. But there is several hundred people gathered.. I think whether or not the spectators join in will determine the severity of the eviction.

Police are shining spotlights into the camp so that when they rush in people won't be able to hide in the dark parks..

Yeah really good if you want to see the tunnels and how traffic is moving. Nothing to see there.

To show how different Portland is from other cities, there will be a storage place where tents and other gear will be stored when the police move in. I imagine those tents stink like something fierce .. I find it funny though police are going out of their way to save the tents lol..

My source says that this time its all going to the landfill. I would think that most of them will lose everything they own.

The live feeds that have been posted and that I can find show a lot of people there, and I don't see any violent tendency from the protestors. With any luck it won't turn violent.

If the police decide to move forward with the eviction at midnight, it seems that many innocent people (beyond the core protestors camping in the park) could get harmed.

This does seem like a peaceful gathering to me (though there most likely are more violent types among the ranks of protestors), and I'm not sure that the police would be in the right to try to break this up.

Most likely they will wait until 3 or 4 in the morning when the majority of supporters have left to try to evict the core group.

At 12:01 what will you do?

"Walk around and politely ask people to remove their tents"

I wonder how well that will go?
