Even if it was 'faked' and the guy holding the paper isn't in that situation, a LOT of people ARE. I myself know many (even within my own FAMILY) who had their homes paid off for decades, were living grandly, within their means, had great Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance costing like 900/mth if not more, bills were always paid on time, excellent credit ratings - and lost pretty much everything due to the SHTF as it's been going.

I've also heard enough tales from acquaintences and others who have also lost all they had due to illness, unexpected layoffs, other things happening. Once you fall off, it's next to impossible to get back on. I don't care what you're falling off of - a great job, money saved in the bank, this that or the other. This is affecting more and more people daily. People's businesses get shut down, they lose, their employees lose.

I don't give a rats behind WHO wrote that paper.

Why not do what that guy did on his tv show once where he refused to touch his bank account with millions, took 500 dollars and his wife, one bag of stuff, had to rent a crap apt, find a min wage job and try to survive for a month. It really opened his eyes - especially when he or she got sick and the emergency room was 500 dollars just to walk in. Why not do that? Why not live like the poor do for one month. Just one month. WE do it every single day of every single year. Try to save up some money and bam. Something happens that drains you back to 20 dollars. Every single day, every single year.

Stop knocking those who lost all they have. Stop it.

You know... I've been lurking around here, reading the OWS posts, trying to keep on top of news of this movement from as many sources as I can, and conversing with people to get their opinions on the whole thing. Throughout all of this, I've come to a single observation. Instead of this movement "unifying" people together, to move forward for a greater good, it has only splintered us further apart from one another.
We have the "class war" (re)ignited - the "rich" vs. the "poor". But those are not the only lines in the sand. We also have one "faction" - the "99%" - squabbling amongst each other as to whether this movement is legit or not.
I'm not saying, "hey, let's hold hands and sing kum-bay-yah around a campfire", but can you not see the utterly simple "divide and conquer" tactic being used?

As a side note, I find it mildly ironic that the remake of "The Thing" movie was released during the (so far) peak time of the OWS movement. A movie entirely based on "divide and conquer". Now if that isn't a slap in the face by "TPTB".

A prominent member of Silicon Valley's exclusive "1 percent" club is pulling his money out of Bank of America and cutting all ties with the bank -- and hopes others will follow his lead.

Mike Fox Sr., a beer magnate and well-known philanthropist, is set to announce Friday that he is divesting his long-held personal Bank of America account, which contains several hundred thousand dollars, in an effort to promote social and economic justice.

Fox said Thursday that he has also asked his executive team to move a $4 million-plus line of credit held by M.E. Fox & Co. from Bank of America to another institution. Fox's firm is a 46-year-old wholesale distributor of beer, water, New Age beverages and Red Bull energy drink.

"I think the only way I can influence people is through my personal example," said Fox, 75, who called the amount he was divesting "rather small compared to the egregiousness" of Bank of America's slow response in modifying home mortgages.

Beautifully said. This "FU I got mine" attitude is what breeds revolutions. Telling "eat cake" to people that have nothing left to lose may not be in your best interests, you know? Mess with the bull and all that. How some people can be so selfish, heartless and plain disgusting is beyond my understanding. They must make us all poor before they can take over. People need to wake the hell up. They control both Parties now and the schools. I think you're missing the point, the ones being accused of watching fox news are the ones quoting from it or using information clearly obtained from their stories. Don't forget you're on an alternative forum so regardless of which MSM you quote you will get some heat for it. Fox news is just known to have a few more hacks than the rest, people don't really boast MSM ideas around here. Ever since the 24/7 media exploded in the early 90s they have used fear to promote their stories and it's important to remember that fear is a disease that eats away at logic and makes man inhuman.

Edit: It's also important to note that the only network that didn't talk about the murdoc case was the one owned by murdoc, they weren't even allowed to talk about it even though it was one of the top stories at the time. If you're going to be a news outlet tell the news if you're going to be an entertainment hub then that's fine but they claim to be a "fair and balanced" (their slogan) news network.

Looking at his other post history, besides the ironic no proof conspiracies, he clearly has a personal agenda to troll and flame any OWS thread just like TinfoilTP. I'd like to remind everyone that the tea party protests started when the bank bailouts began. So yes, they figured out what was coming but sooner. They were proactive rather than reactive. To me that is more impressive. And furthermore, they knew the solution to the problem was massive cuts to government programs. They were not as exciting and didn't take off the way the OWS because they don't know how to focus on emotions the way the Occupy Wall Street crowd does. Its the same reason a football game can draw 100,000 people to a stadium but the guy capable of solving real problems, Ron Paul, has never drawn more than about 15,000.

If Ron Paul would add in some story-telling and emotion like the one in the OP he would be far closer to that nomination.

There was a time where lower class people were not allowed to vote because it was assumed they would vote to take away all the money of the upper class. It would seem they are being proven exactly right. Democracy is a good system but maintaining the most basic moral values have to be core to the system.

Unbelievably, the masses have been deluded into thinking that if you get together with a big crowd and break the law or do something grossly immoral, its fine and dandy because its called "the government doing its job". Taxes isn't stealing even though stealing is taking without asking.... "Its just the government doing its taxation job". Killing other people is okay if they seem dangerous and that isn't murder... "its the government doing its assassination job". The problem with the 99% is that they allow simple words to throw out their entire moral code and commit evil. That said, I have confidence the 99% can learn using things like the internet to become civilized in the future.

People should stop focusing on words like "OSW" and "tea party" and start focusing on actions like using alternative currency, using credit unions, etc. Words are powerful but actions are vastly more powerful!

Being ruled by the 51% is proving to be only a little better than being ruled by the 1% for the exact reasons we were given hundreds of years ago. Hopefully people will realize that Democracy is a nearly brand new idea and it needs a whole lot of refining.

The time of "jetsons" style vehicles never came. I mean when i was 10 in 1983 i was walking home with by best friend and was talking about how the news was saying we would have cars that flew around by "2010" and we all would live in domes and it sounded really cool. And your idea is cool too. But it just is not going to happen why? Because the elite.

We have to "make things real" before things come to fruition. We were day dreamer dreaming our lives away... a today we act. And I have anticipated it for decades, its a buzz on sweet and low when people pitch me alternatives in these victorious days.

It's low frequency so old folks will probably have difficulty with the audio. If you use earphones it may help, some people hear fine and some cant hear a thing. I am not one to do HD audio and dolby surround i just say my 2 cents and let it be.

While the tea party may have seen this problem before the OWS movement, these types of movements were springing up around the world at that time when the tea party came out.
Regardless, now people are fighting for the same things the tea party tried to stop.

No one is better then anyone and pitting the tea party against OWS is only asking for more problems in the streets and in the media.

Peaceful resolutions should be found, more reasons to stand together should be spoken. I fear we are all too angry and self-centred to do that, that's why as proud as I am of OWS, I am also afraid for them. For anyone who stands up and speaks aloud about the countries problems. Good luck to you all, try and remember we are in this together.
