Elenin is well documented... maybe your thinking of Nibiru?

Space Weather has an article on the cloud as well, about halfway down the main front page...

that describes this cloud as hydrogen cyanide which is a poison. It shows up as blue in some kind of a spectrum. Couldn't really make out from the other thread if, and if, when this cloud might have anything to do with us.

Comets dont just dissapeare nor do they break up and go poof. What I wana know is what were they tracking and where did it go.

Umm yes they do, as proven by Elenin, as it approached the Sun it disintegrated. It's dust, it's unimportant, it was never a threat to us anyway. I wish everyone would shut up about it.

Actually, they do sometimes just break up. If they get too close to the Sun or other conditions can basically melt them or cause them to fall to pieces, like Shoemaker-Levy 9, which broke up and then smashed piece by piece into Jupiter.

This comet completely disintegrated, which is a pretty common situation with comets. Most of the main meteor showers we experience Perseids, Gemenids, etc. come from the disintegration of comets.

most comets do NOT disintegrate.

and can you please explain how many millennia of meteor showers supposedly generated by disintegrating 'iceballs' leave a perfectly intact primary comet..that does not 'disintegrate' thru the ages.

y'all are so wrong about so many things (as am i and much of science) that it boggles the mind.

go back to sleep: its much cozier there. Meanwhile, i'm keeping my eyes and my mind open.

I hope it isn't puling a Comet Holmes scenerio like a few years ago - you know when the darn thing blew up many times larger than the sun - could make it very interesting seeing a HUGE blob of dust and gas in the night sky !

Comets do disintegrate. Just look at Comet West. Another long period comet, except it had an orbital period of a million years. It disintegrated during its close approach in '76. Also, what's the point of us keeping an eye on it? It passed the Earth over a week ago with no ill effects.
