SIRTE, Libya (AP) — Libyan officials and NATO say they cannot confirm reports from revolutionary fighters that ousted Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi was captured or killed in the fall of his hometown Thursday.

The Misrata Military Council, one of multiple command groups for revolutionary forces, says its fighters captured Gadhafi in Sirte. Another commander, Abdel-Basit Haroun, says Gadhafi was killed when an airstrike hit a convoy trying to flee.

all the back and forth? bet he'll be buried at sea???

everyone keeps saying he was captured. some say he wasn't. what's the deal? now NATO cannot confirm? why do they keep playing see-saw? what are they hiding?

i do not understand why they release news that they aren't even sure of.

this was just uypdated like 20 minutes ago.

It's only the first time his death's been reported..
How many times did we hear Osama was dead before we saw the proof.

Then again, what proof do we have.

They have him, his body is on the way to Misuratah and they just showed a picture of his body after he was killed/captured (not sure about the picture) and we'll see when his body gets to Misuratah.


Unless they dump his body in the sea..... na, nobody would be that stupid, people would be suspicious if that happened.

I just saw a picture on BBC news that supposedly showed Gadafi covered in blood. I must say it did look a lot like him.

How many countless boogeymen are "captured" dead?? Quite a few actually, OBL, Gaddafi and countless heads of Al Queda. Saddam was the only one who actually had a trial (thinking about it now, wtf was his trial about anyway??) Gaddafi is just another statistic of wanted captured alive to face trial, but gets killed instead.

You guys seem to have a naive trust in the media that you all rant and rave about as politcally (not truth) motivated.

I'm not falling for that one.

If he's not dead yet, he will ultimately end up that way....at least publicly anyway. Same with OBL.

Tptb cannot risk him spilling his guts about all the cons, the double deals and the foreign 'agency' involvement in his region, so he either dies or goes away as 'someone else', just like OBL who is currently probably masquerading as someone else (surgery), having played his Terrorist role assigned to him well.

He is probably chilling with Osama and Elvis sipping margaritas laughing at CNN while on a conference call with the White House.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this is true.

The NTC have lied before and this lie is no different.

No he wasn't Captured, he was murdered in cold blood and so were his family by NATO gangsters.
