Amateur astronomers will soon not be limited to just their own equipment. Starting next year, a group of robotic telescopes will be going online, available for use, free even.

Yeah, no worries, it's quite common apparently.

You are suffering from premature interaction.

Looking forward to your post though.

ETA:- Damn that really is premature, it's not happening to next year.

Yeah, next year, but, it's still something to look forward too; planning target objects, viewing times, etc.

I know, looking forward to it.

I don't currently have a telescope and was thinking of buying one, but now I may not need to. Thanks for sharing. Peace.

I'll just save this link until next year when it can be useful to see all the creepy things in space that will still be unexplained or disclosed.

It'll definitely be nice to have access to 17 different robotic telescopes around the world.

I expect there will be waiting times and reservations for time slots just as there are with professional astronomers using other large telescopes and arrays.
Even if such, this is still totally fantastic.

As for a glut in requests and reservations for time slots by amateur n00bs, I expect the more serious and forward thinking amateurs will be diligent in planning ahead, and being more aggressive in repeated requests and reservation of time slots such that after the initial novelty wears off, the playing field will peter out and open up.

Did you go all gung ho on that website?

I found it quite easy to work around IF you follow the instructions from the moment you create an account.

I'll have to do it another time. I have to study for test. Don't time to study for a website.
