True revolution starts with people removing themselves from the status quo and making a difference in their own neck of the woods and gardening and teaching others to live more simply and be stewards of the environment without government intervention. But the government want to make that difficult so that they can make money on the green movement only thing green is the dollar and that is almost worthless now. Wake up people make yourselves accountable and do it the old fashion way change your life and help those around you change theirs too. That's what I am trying to do and talking to people who feel trapped and say hey me too but we can make it better by coming to gather and not this us vs. Them mentality.

Well said. I too am getting myself and my family prepared for a independent life style. My house and property are paid off, my taxes are low, my greenhouse will produce enough fish and plants to sustain us year round and all I need to buy are stocks of grains etc.

I also have a bugout plan and supplies to relocate anywhere in the U.S. on a couple hours notice. I make my own fuel and use solar power as much as possible. If the grid goes down from a CME I am prepared. If a 200 ft wall of water hits the east coast I am prepared with a sailboat outfitted with all the gear minus food and water which can be quickly loaded.

The simple fact is that people need to get off the tit of government and find a way to get self sufficient. If things got really bad and the government took all of my stuff and my property I would still be able to survive with my knowledge.

I don't get where your 'weather' metaphor comes from, I never implied anything of the kind. Capitalism is indeed a n artificial system, an organised behaviour, but that doesn't stop the failure of that system being down to its inherent flaws and the weaknesses and flaws of the people operating the system. My point is that simply trying to 'reboot' capitalism will not work. The same thing as has happened now will only happen again further down the line. Exponential growth and unrestrained consumption are unsustainable in every sense. It's time to try something else.

It's using you and people like you to march on bankers families giving out their addresses where their children attend school and marching in mass to private homes. How would that make you feel. Except, if you read up on it at all, from a more neutral source that doesn't liken the occupy Atlanta group to a "Phish Concert,' you'd see that they actually just voted to proceed with their agenda, which Lewis was interrupting, and that he could speak after they finished their already agreed upon agenda. They couldn't give him an exact time, so he declined.

Furthermore, people at the protest who felt Lewis should be recognized for his accomplishments (which are many indeed, I would agree) left in disgust.

By contrast, here's what happened to Lewis last year at a Tea Party protest:

The issue isn't Lewis, Fox, or the Tea party. It is the imbeciles with the spirit fingers. If you mindlessly repeat chants and/or dialogue as a group, people are going to call it as they see it, cultlike behavior (accurately in my opinion). The "general assembly" (as practiced in this Occupy ATL video) is ideologically collectivist and obviously a big waste of time from a practical standpoint.

This is why no one respects the left unless they are leftist. No one with any self respect wants to return to a kindergarten classroom and make hand gestures instead of clapping. No one with any self respect wants to waste their time doing spirit fingers to show "consensus" because they know it generally will never happen and that they are making themselves look like a fool. But then again, the collective doesn't really recognize a "self", so there is nothing to respect.

And the idea that no one there is any more important than any other is fine when planting flowers in each other's greasy hair, but it certainly doesn't ring true when Lewis can enact legislation that may directly contribute to their "movement". What a bunch of self defeating maroons.

Upon research I have found many elite are behind this movement I have a lot of long hours into this because like you and I thought wow finally people are gathering for a pure cause but the more I looked into it the more I found people like George Sorros who paid to print the occupy wall street papers that have been so nicely pressed also unions didn't spontaneously support protestors it is documented and planned to come out later oh and there is more but this might just upset you since if you reread my post I never attacked my fellow ATSer.
I garden, use and consume less and plan to be a safe haven and light to others in this world when the time comes. So please don't attack me or accuse me of being unresearched or hateful.

I do believe in the protest but one can't help but wonder if anyone else out there feels like these protest are being allowed to grow and take place as a cover up (maybe even partially) perhaps for something bigger? I don't know but the thought crossed my mind. Anyone else?

All MSM lie and bend the truth according to their certain bias, i think that has been well established. I believe people will take sides once Occupy becomes violent, which is inevitable. They can be peaceful all they want but there's always a point when things turn violent with protests, it will be even more interesting how the government responds to protest violence.
