We have new comet in Sun direction, think is going to hit Sun next days ..

Is nice to see this events live, hope you like this info ..

You can see on LASCO C3, 20110930 to 20110930 ..

I dont see anything resembling a comet in that animation perhaps you could point me to what your talking about ie quadrant or frame #?

This comet is not s0 big to cause bigger eruption on Sun ..

Think we have 50% chance for some CME, but some little or medium size CME if appear ..

Is very nice to watch this live, don't expect nothing spectacular ..

Comet you can see in picture and animation what I post, big dot is Mercury ..

what Chadwickus is showing is the path of kreutz-group comets. In your pic the bright dot is Mercury.

chad is not pointing to any comets...

the picture chad posted shows the range in which the set of comets are to be found (light colour path)..and the arrow points to the direction they are traveling

someone corrects me if i'm wrong

Here is confirmation ..


SUNDIVING COMET : This morning a quartet of amateur comet hunters (M. Kusiak, S. Liwo, B. Zhou and Z. Xu) independently noticed a comet in SOHO coronagraph images. The icy visitor from the icy solar system is diving toward the sun--probably a one-way trip. Kusiak expects the doomed comet to brighten to first magnitude between now and the early hours of Oct. 1st.
