marching for "freedom" ???? are you serious?
freedom from what exactly? which part of their freedom has been sacrificed?

they are free to exercise their skills in an attempt to better themselves.
they are free to pander and pester any passerby for a proverbial hand-out.
they are free to continue their education (should they choose such an option)
they are free to gather and voice their concerns.
they are free people existing in a nation that protects that freedom ... so what freedom are they marching for, exactly??? and what have they sacrificed to deserve such a reward?

for your knowledge, the Federal Reserve was created in 1921 ... not 1776.
for your informational absorption, the Federal Reserve is NOT a government entity.
and a tip for you ... socialism has no track record of success, anywhere.
good luck in your learning process, it appears you have far to travel.

This is about ending cronyism, not instituting socialism

hahahahahaha, shredded my chains many moons ago ... and, it was quite liberating

shame you folks refuse to learn how or even try ... nah, just cry a little louder ... maybe you should stomp your feet too.

so, if it's not about instituting socialism ... what IS the plan?
this question has been asked repeatedly, still waiting for any answer.

i am free from the ills of this movement.
i am free from the ills of the globalists.
i am free to decide what is best for me and protesting the wrong enemy is a bad start

besides, when American Idol auditions draw double the "interest", i am also free to exercise my patience.

attendance
New York tends to draw strong attendance, including 17,000 last year, the most out of any city in season 10.

pssst - haven't had a bank account in nearly a decade. don't have a mortgage, don't want one. don't owe the taxman and don't pay him either. Knowledge is your friend, embrace it and then you'll surpass this imaginary view of oooooh, the bankers are out to get us.

problem for you is, you're targeting the wrong group of "bankers" and until you are aware of the difference, you are merely beating the same drum we've all heard before.
March on, feel free, just don't blame your lack of insight on me.

..Oh I got it...

Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos. I'm an agent of chaos. Oh, and you know the thing about chaos? It's fair!

I would agree that higher education is something you earn and pay for, except for the fact that almost ALL THE JOBS now require a degree. IF we still had manufacturing jobs (and employers with the common sense that education does not equal competence...) then I'd be more likely to agree with you.

But if the PRICE of getting a job in America is a degree, and the price is too high for poor kids, then there's no equality there, that's a feudal system.

so you want change but don't wont to do anything?
you want to be a warrior for our people but only can make it as a keyboard warrior?
there is things that need to change and us sitting on ATS going wo is us?, that doesn't change anything they're playing they're game now we just need to kick the board away and change games and the rules.

So please ATS continue sitting in your chair behind your screen of anonymity and keep believing that your words here are valuable to any cause and will be heard as this is what you are egotistic spineless cowards.

WE WANT CHANGE

but when you get your opportunity you do nothing but disrepect the cause and belittle it because you didn't think of it. grow up this is what a child does wants to play with what others have until they get it then they want what the kid is playing with now.

This +1000! Any excuse to sit back and do nothing and blame everyone else.

So let's analyze every possible movement.

Movement gains enough ground to get attention.
Movement then linked to "suspicious origins"
Movement then "soon to be hijacked by the bad guys"
Movement then avoided by the mainstream conspiracy people because it can't work!!!!!
MCP (Mainstream Conspiracy People) then feel great about having avoided the trap, while typing furiously about it.

I do believe that TPTB have forced people into inaction through fear. ATS, and many other sites, prove this out time and time again... and THIS is from the people who actually believe they are being completely screwed by TPTB! Still sit and do nothing! Typing on a keyboard IS NOT A CHANGE.

These people are actually at least doing things in real life. There is no hope by sitting and typing. Realize this.

There are dozens of Occupy movements going on around America in every major city. Most of them are beginning the democratic process and they are starting by voting on a declaration. I have seen very little complaint about NYC's declaration itself. It is very simple and straightforward. I believe most of the Occupy Movements will adopt a version of this Declaration by the General Assembly of New York. But I do not expect them to adopt all 22 of NYC's Points of Contention.

I am very eager to see what each region has in common with New Yorkers, and what they hold seperate.

For those of you who continue to have issues with the Occupy Wall Street movement... I would suggest you attend or email your local Occupy movement and make your voice heard. Otherwise they will decide which points of contention are important to the local region without consulting you.

And wouldn't that be a tragedy.

That's the whole point about rights and protest..the government cannot take away a right that the citizen does not allow to be taken away. The government was instituted to serve the people...not suppress!

Republicans, Dems, and Independents huh?

This looks familiar:

www.occupylasvegas.org...

Looks eerily familiar to this:

www.boanow.com...

Again, know who you're standing with:

wagingnonviolence.org...

These protests are not run by "regular people", they are run by commies and socialists trying to stir up their revolution. They want the violence.

Thank you, someone else who feels the need for more personal responsibility. Not everyone should have a college education, we need trades/craft-men/women in an alarming amount. We need plumbers, carpenters, electricians, etc. maybe more than we need programmers, etc. What happened to people working their way through college? What happened to people accepting an apprenticeship? Ozzie and Harriet were make believe. I Love Lucy was a comedy. Lassie was more than one dog. Where is the world's reality?

Since when is K-12 free? My child is in first grade and I spent around $160 on book rentals and $2 a day just on lunches. Do the math. That is $40 a month. Not to mention paying for field trips, paying for the long list of stuff at the beginning of the year, etc. Definitely not free. I do realize paying for college is in a whole other ballpark. I owe thousands of dollars worth of school loans that I will be paying off till I'm an old lady. What we need is more scholarships for the students who do put in effort and get good grades. I don't believe that education should be free for all but I do believe that it shouldn't be as expensive as it is. There are a lot of smart kids that don't get the opportunity to go to college because its way too expensive. Ok I'm done with my rant. Not meant to be an argument, just wanted to point out that primary education is not free.

While I understand what you are saying, it isn't fair to count the cost of your child's food as part of their education. You would let them eat whether they were being educated or not right? Also, people who don't have kids pay school taxes too. So, they are paying to educate your child. And, once your kid is out of school, you will continue to pay for others' children to be educated. And I am fine with that. But, it really is basically free in that you aren't charged more than those who have no children, and you aren't charged per child.

Really? Another supporter of the protests whose best come back is to imply that those who disagree are shills paid to type their disagreement into a web forum. That's just weak. If this is the best logic and rhetorical analysis rebuttal you can muster you are not going to do any great service to your movement. Why do so many of you fall back on this weak argument. State your point. Argue it. But don't assume that anyone who disagrees with you is a paid shill. By refusing to even acknowledge the REAL and largely middle class people who just aren't feeling this you ensure that you will never change their minds. You also show a tremendous short sightedness. Maybe you should be wondering WHY real people disagree with the protest even though they agree that there are problems that need fixing. That might lead to a more productive discussion and a superior outcome.

They can get student loans like the rest of us.
They can live within their means in college and get a part time job which will help to minimize the loans.
They can go to a less expensive state school or community college, especially for the first two years.

I do agree with you that we need more manufacturing jobs.

No one wants to believe that this protest was STARTED by CPUSA, SPUSA, and the ISO to attempt to foment a socialist revolution by dragging a hodgepodge of angry young people and dupe them into thinking they are doing the right thing.

If they're marching for freedom, then why are they standing next to people who want more government control of everything? Why are they not marching for ECONOMIC LIBERTY? For the restoration, in full, of their civil and natural individual rights? Why are they not demanding contract enforcement from the government against the banks that defrauded the American home owner? Why aren't they marching against Washington who own all of the student loan accounts and 97% of the mortgages in the country?

These are the dumbest and most easily duped bunch of morons I've ever seen.
