Thats what it boils down to - survival.
No, these were people intent on killing and taking land at any cost. If all they wanted was survival they would not have killing the British to run them out. They want open warfare because they believe they will come out on top no matter how far it escalates.
I think you need to look at your own propaganda you have been taking in because you write things that only make sense in a make-believe world.
How many Palestinians have you discussed the war with, face to face?

The onlything Israel wanted was a peace treaty with her neighbors and the acknowledgment that they have a right to exist.

Rubbish...
Actions speak louder than words and Israel has proven time and again that they do not want peace..
They want MORE land which is evident in their Illegal Settlements continued to THIS DAY..

Argue that Xcathdra..
If Israel are for peace then why continue stealing more land???????????????
It's an obvious provocation and gives the Palestinians every reason to respond..

Quote: David Ben Gurion (the first Israeli Prime Minister): "If I were an Arab leader, I would never sign an agreement with Israel. It is normal; we have taken their country. It is true God promised it to us, but how could that interest them? Our God is not theirs. There has been Anti - Semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault ? They see but one thing: we have come and we have stolen their country. Why would they accept that?" Quoted by Nahum Goldmann in Le Paraddoxe Juif (The Jewish Paradox), pp121.

Ben Gurion also warned in 1948 : "We must do everything to insure they ( the Palestinians) never do return." Assuring his fellow Zionists that Palestinians will never come back to their homes. "The old will die and the young will forget."

"We have to kill all the Palestinians unless they are resigned to live here as slaves." Chairman Heilbrun of the Committee for the Re-election of General Shlomo Lahat, the mayor of Tel Aviv, October 1983.

Yeah war warps the mind, especially when Arabs try multiple times to eradicate Israel. Arabs lost the '67 war and the turned their noses up at the peace proposal, rejecting the UN out of hand.

Ive posed the question and several of yourefuse to answer it for obvious reason.

Would we be having this conversation if Arabs were successful in attacking Israel?

The answer would be no. Israel is not going anywhere, regardless of how many times Arabs / Hamas / terrorists attack Israeli civilians and then, like the coawards they are, hide behind their own palestinian civilians to drive the body count up.

They have developed this iodt ass policy that since they cant defeat Israel on the battlefield, they will try to do it in the realm of populr opinion.

Palesitinians could have had their own country many times now, but instead cowardice Palestinian / Arab leadership has gotten in the ay of that. The onlyone the Palestinians have to blame is themsevels for putting Hamas in power and resigning their fate to the Arab governments.

1. Israel is run by the same damn neo-cons that plague the U.S government. They're the same people that didn't just "go away" when Obama was elected.

2. Why should they stand idly by and watch an upstart nation of zionists commit cultural genocide on their peoples? All over a what a #ing book says?

Get it straight. Deny Ignorance, tell Israel to go # off!!

Israel is what I call a "mini-me": a state that wanted so badly to have the military might of the United States. They married it to the same tactics used by Nazis during WWII and thus, Israel was born.

Personally, I'd support getting the holy # out of the middle east. Life's too short to fight for a bunch of #ing cowards that control you.

What a load of BS you spin..

The Arabs refused the UN resolutions for good reasons.
They were ALWAYS in favor of Israel..
Even an ex Israeli PM admitted that..

The good thing recently is that Israel is showing it's TRUE colors.
They are making it obvious to the world that they NEVER wanted peace.
All they ever wanted was MORE land, ALL of it..

The world population are not stupid...
If Israel had ANY interest in peace then this last week was the PERFECT opportunity to do that by announcing there would be NO MORE SETTLEMENTS, EVER!!!!!

The fact that as the UN sat, Israeli bulldozers were at work, is testament to their true agenda.

Normally I would agree but until the cowards are replaced in the next PAlestinian election, things are not going to change.

I appreciate that it is trendy to compare Israel to the Nazis Some people think they are one of the same, as they as they sit on their comfy sofas sipping their latte (decaff, of course), but that’s utter twaddle and people like that need to get out more.

If the Israeli’s were anything like the Nazi’s then the Palestinians would have been removed a few decades ago. A cursory understanding of history would demonstrate the silliness of comparing the Nazis to the Israelis.

Making comparisons are stupid because what the socialist worker's party of the thirties and forties in Germany, was and what they supposedly did, is so propagandized, most people are clueless to the actual facts.
You just have to look at what they (the Israelis) are doing and compare it to what they were supposed to be doing, as understood in 1948. They are doing something completely different and are going against all accepted norms that were come to in the face of all the atrocities perpetrated in the near past. They are doing things methodically to where by the time people generally understand what is happening, it will already be done.

It's strange how a person can wake up staunchly anti-Zionist, and then have 10 little letters make them think about supporting Israeli occupation instead.

It's tough to watch the news, and to see Israeli soldiers firing automatic weapons into a crowd of stone throwers. Abass is entitled to change his mind, and opinions. It does seem like the Israelis are searching for a final solution.

Which is to end up saying, "We would negotiate if there was anyone who we could negotiate with."

I honestly believe that both sides view compromise as defeat, and any talk of compromise is nothing more than a stalling tactic.

i have a question would israel be any good at protecting israel if america withdrew its weapons and money? i believe it would be more fair for sure. the side that could make the better slingshot would win. but the U.S. needed an ally in the M.E. i believe those days are over. it is time to kick israel off the couch and make them go out and get a job. enough living off the American's.

You make an interesting point. I would counter that same point with, If the US were not there to restrain Israel the whole settlement issue would be long resolved and Israel would not have a palestinian problem right now.

Agree cutting any financial support and military concession to Israel, but only if the surrounding nations also stop receiving aid from others. After all, Syria is armed by the Russians and the Palestinians (and groups therein) are in receipt of aid from everyone, including (ahem) aid from Syria and Iran.

After all what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Only one side gains from stalling, which is the side that is eating up the other.

Actually I think Israel would holds its own, and that is more true in todays world. Also, as humerous as it is to be stuck on the Us and Israel, it does get old.

Arab countries, even though they lost the wars, wouldhave been worse had it not been for the Soviet Union supporting them. Actually if we want to get technical, had the Soviet Union not provided the military equipment to Arab countries, the arab countries may have never tried to invade Israel to wip it off the map.

Also, people seem to ignore that Israeli actions were defensive, not offensive.

Exactly how many times did the Palestinians / Arabs turn their noses up at a seperate sovereign state? Depending on source the number is between 10 and 20.

Also, while I know its popular to blame Israel for everything, you guys really should read up on the whole picture.

Arafat signed the Oslo accords.... Since then Palestinians have violated the Oslo accords with certain actions, including the latest.
