Anyone had any deep thoughs before concerning this awesome song
it seem there is a mysterious not so much hidden message inside
concerning our futur .. but no one listen to words anymore

Heres the Lyrics

We're leaving together
But still it's farewell
And maybe we'll come back
To earth, who can tell?

I guess there is no one to blame
We're leaving ground
Will things ever be the same again?
It's the final countdown...

We're heading for
Venus and still we stand tall
Cause maybe they've seen us and welcome us all
With so many light years to go and things to be found

I'm sure that we'll all miss her so
It's the final countdown...
The final countdown...
It's the final countdown.

The lyrics can mean many things yes .. but when i hear it
it make me think about 2012 - Aliens - Ascension - Space - Earth entering some last cycle
it even sound like humans will be saved before planet earth is terraformed

just look at the first paroles

And maybe we'll come back
To earth, who can tell?

I guess there is no one to blame
We're leaving ground
Will things ever be the same again?

Does that sound familiar ?

Anyone though of that before ?
the song was maybe written for the final countdown to 2012 ?
has a warning or message to the society

I have listen to that song many times

the words fascinate me

ITS INDEED THE FINAL COUNTDOWN
the final cycle is almost over and it took many
thousand of yrs to get to that last cycle

That is really strange ,that you should post this ,as i was listening to this the other day thinking the same thing .
weird .
eta this was 1986 and things werent so apocalyptic but look at this
The follow-up to The Final Countdown was entitled Out of This World and was released in 1988
recurring theme en.wikipedia.org...(band)

Clearly someone know something about what will happen to us in the futur
the writer had a prediction when he wrote it for EUROPE ??
at least the song doesnt sound negative at all fear mongering things ..
it bring hope and changes which we greatly need

The most important Countdown is the Mayan calendar to 2012
is the song related to it ??
i start to think so when i listen to the song

another song
Coast to Coast .lyrics.rockmagic.net...
.Sign Of The Times

When the word is out from the other side
She turns around
Cause day and night she's waited patiently
Now a different kind of world out there
Is to be found
It's over now for everyone to see
This is the way it's meant to be

The song was writen in the cold war era, and reflects the hopelessness and fear of growing up in a world that could be destroyed at any minute. At least thats how I have always interpreted the song. "99 Luftballons" also has a similar theme

Well the 'Illuminati' are supposed to control the music industry.
They are probably just dropping subtle hints.

Here is another....bigger hint...

Yesterday I posted this thread... It's the end of the world!

The break up of R.E.M, their most famous song?

You couldn't make this stuff up.
Or maybe we just did!

Venus is not light years removed from us. If I remember correctly the nearest star is some 4,4 light years away. And with Venus in an orbit between us and the sun, the songwriter apparently didn't pay attention in class when they discussed the solar system.

But it's still a great song!

Hey Salut Ben !!!!

Awesome awesome song !! Leading to 2012 ? I don't know...but I agree that there could be some deep meaning behind the lyrics.

Every time I hear it, it reminds me of this movie :

U.S.S. Nimitz sent back in time to 1941...a movie I really enjoyed back then, with Kirk Douglas...Martin Sheen...
(Nimitz - Retour vers l'enfer) for those french canadian posters

Time travel...Philadelphia experiment...paradox...all the goodies...

www.imdb.com...

But according to wiki, the lyrics were inspired by 1969 David Bowie's song "Space Oddity"...

en.wikipedia.org...

Another awesome awesome song...

Just think of Ground Control to Major Tom... and memories do the rest...

So are they telling us that something's up for 2012? Or before? In a few weeks? a few months?

All I can say is that I am prepared.

That was a cool thread, this early in the morning...

S&F.
