Elenin seen from Northern California on 09/19/2011 & 09/18/2011

this guy, from northern california, is taking cool pictures every morning in the eastern horizon just before the sunrise for the past week...

are this airplanes or comets??

and this is yesterday's video (09/18/2011):

planes. lol theres been a bunch of threads with objects that look like those all the same shape and it def looks like they are moving at a slow pace. and if you ever look at a clear blue sky and see an airplane that high up it has the same shape and takes a long time to leave sight. and i didnt see elenin?...

Looks like an airplane and contrail, regular scheduled flights, is why at same time everyday, the sun is hitting it.

For crying out loud. What a bunch of horse feathers. I didn't bother viewing the first video, because it's still is from the program "Stellarium." And the comment on the bottom stated that something about airplanes. Yeah right.
The second video displays nothing but jet contrails.

Nothing but a plane. I agree, Horse Feathers. I will be so glad when all this has passed. Cant wait for the return in a couple thousand years or is it quiet a few thousand years?

Proof is in the puddin' and the puddin' looks mighty tasty.


Except could you help me understand this:


Target Body [change] : Mars [499]
Observer Location [change] : Geocentric


What this implies to me is that you are observing Mars (incorrect) rather than Elenin, and Geocentric is referring to your reference point being Earth-bound (correct).

Although this wouldn't make much sense considering Mars is rising 5 hours prior to the Sun currently!



Ah i see, i just plugged in the correct target body, let's see....

Well, ive just discovered that ELenin is apparently moving about an hour in terms of right ascension every approximately Twelve days, so that's cool.

Too lazy to figure out it's location.

No. It was never visible to the naked eye but it's been too close to sunset in the northern hemisphere to be seen even with a telescope since July. The astronomers in Australia lost track of it in the glare of the Sun about a week ago. At that time it (or what's left of it) was hardly discernible.
