Is anyone having probs with ATS "timing out" today?

Beautiful. We're back. My computer was giving me a look like, "Hey, why are you ignoring me?" Fact is, ATS is pretty much all I do with it.

After reviewing the logs, it looks like the BING spider exponentially increased its crawl-rate (15-20 attempts at different threads every second) as the problems became more severe. I've heard about webmasters complaining about the "manners" of the BING spider, so I'll look into this also.

(1) bad data in a post
(2) poor DOS attempt
(3) poor manners from Microsoft

Microsoft are pretty good at bringing servers down, I had one the other day that had to be rebuilt
because a stuck update got out of control.

There was an update pending loop, the general feeling was that if the Pending.xml file in WinSxS was deleted
the server would boot........ Um not this time it blue screened. Another Microsoft FAIL.

Hopefully you don't use Microsoft Server Operating systems.
Hopefully you use Linux

Frustrating but interesting. One wonders who would attempt a DOS attack on ATS, and why?

Isn't it normal practice the last decade or so? The slightest hiccup and they tell you to do a system restore or chances are everything goes corrupt and you have to format-reinstall-reupdate.....taking weeks if not months to complete.

What happened to GENIUNE TECH SERVICE? Do you have to pay some nsa nerd $1,000 an hour? People have no idea!

Didn´t notice anything out of the ordinary. Everything works fine.

Maybe it was a local issue somewhere.

Just now (Saturday 9-3, evening ) I am experiencing anomalous glitches in ATS. For about 3 or 4 times, whenever I clicked on to a thread, post, and "my ATS", then........I got booted out, and needed to log back in. And back in, and back in. Is it just me and my computer, or a harbinger of more overall cybermischief? Thanks!

Havent been having any of the problems people are describing. all good here.

Just to mention that ATS has been working great for me again since SO fixed...well...whatever he fixed !

I just love it when things work smooth...
