Yeah well maybe if you were in a family in Japan, you'd understand that fear a bit better first hand. But it's ok. You don't have to be in Japan. Radiation contamination has been shown to be far and wide. Might even affect you and all of us.

Why start worrying now?

It's not like nuclear power plants have just been built this year and it's not like hurricanes only started appearing today too.

Your concern is too late and too little.

if you REALLY where concerned, you would have been concerned YEARS ago, before they where being built.

You can live in your illusion to feel safe but you cant change anything if you thing that way ..

I never said I was safe, I said all our concern is a little fake and too little too late.

I was around when Chernoyble went up AND i was in its path too.

You also forget COAL PLANTS emit radioactive SMOKE, coal is radioactive, as is oil.

Where you concerned then too?

What did you to warn them BEFORE it was built?

There you are using the Japanesse disaster to try to make ME feel guilty, well tell me this, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HELP THEM? I have done nothing so far, what have you done?

Please enlighten us.

I just saw on Accuweather.com where Irene is not going to make landfall. It is expected to stay off the coast. The fear mongering about the Nuke plants needs to stop!

Beyond that point, latest indications put Irene on a path extremely close to or over the mid-Atlantic coast and New York City before plowing into western New England.

Irene is expected to track near the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay and Delmarva coast Saturday night, then could pass within 30 miles of New York City Sunday evening as a weakening Category 2 hurricane.

Um...

No more than every other hurricane in the last forty years, of which there had been many, has threatened security at these plants.
So, what makes this one so much more special than say, hurricane Gloria in the 80s?
Not much. This ain't our first rodeo, but you go right ahead living in constant fear of...well, living, I guess.

You don't understood my what I saying is only one thing ..

You need to put maximal pressure to fed close nuke plants and you close all fear worldwide ..

You need to change way of thinking, we don't need that nuclear energy anymore today we have clear energy source ..

With nuclear energy we don't have future, we have only fear and catastrophic events ..

You want your kids to be in same kind of fear and danger ??

Stop Nuclear energy worldwide ..

Like in Germany planning to do and don't be blind anymore ..

Guess you never heard of thorium..

When you get a bus, or drive your car, or turn on your central heating or light that coal fire.

You are releasing radiation.

When you turn on that lamp, you are probably using coal.

YOU are releasing radiation.

Coal and Oil IS radioactive.

Go measure the air downwind from a coal plant and see.

When you use your solar panel, that is using METALS dug up from the ground

When you use your wind turbine, that is made of plastics from OIL.

Quit your angel crap on me dear.

There's only one really in a dangerous part of the path. (in NC).

The others are further north, and the storm will be much, much weaker by the time it's up that way.
I'm not too worried on this front. (and Japan's issue was more due to the quake vs. any kind of wind and rain).

Why is everything a Fukushima nowadays? The East Coast gets hit with hurricanes of this size all the time without any nuclear problems.

The nuclear power plants are not the thing you should be worrying about with this storm.

Thinking like that will get us all killed.

Nuclear or non nuclear argument aside, If they're going to be there at all they need to be scrutinized from every which way possible for safety concerns.
Whats the point in rolling the dice like that?

They are not invincible, and we're seen already what nature can do.

This is exactly what I have been saying to people. If a tiny little quake that does minor damage and no severe damage can take plants offline and create so much trouble than what about a category 3 or 4 hurricane?
