I've spent some of my professional career as a software developer. I also spent much of my spare time working on two different MMO's. For those that do not know why they is important, 99% of computer programmers create business related applications. Game development is an entirely different creature. The only similarities between game programming and application development is they both use a set of instructions to perform tasks.

Anyway... an MMO is a massively multi player online game, such as World of Warcraft, Everquest, EVE Online, etc. In these games players enter inter a world created by software developers and content developers. Most of these games are made by teams of specialists which include sound effects people, 2d artists, 3d artists, story line writers, physics programmers, musicians, special effects, and so on.

The team of people working on such projects create a world. They are essentially like gods to this world they have created.

Players enter this world, and within this world there is absolutely no way for them to know who the 'gods' of the world are. The world or universe they have created is completely self contained. It doesn't really matter what the players do because after they leave the game they go out into the real world.

I'm sure you guys see where this is leading right?

The content developers make up all the stuff and the programmers make interfaces for them to place the content such as story lines, or objects, or cities, or fossils, or ruins, or stars, or worm holes, weird physics etc. into the game.

Players usually interact with the gods of the game via 'guides' or 'admins' these guys manifest into the game and tell people when they're conduct is bad, eg something that will cause litigation to the people hosting the games.

Developers can also put fail safes and optimization code into software.

Now that you have a slight idea of what an MMO is, my questions,

1> Could a programmer log into the game, and play as a regular character showing players everything that they should do and could do if they met the right criteria as an example and logout of the game in such a way that it will be legendary and forever remembered as well as able to provide players with accurate prophecy of the future time line within the game.

2> Could another programmer place content within the game world/universe to case doubt on the first programmer?

3> Can players enter the game with a great back story with all these events never actually happened but are really just back story?

4> Is the measurement problem in quantum physics really just a code optimization to save 'processing power' by not actually processing data that is not being observed by a player?

5> Could this apply to reality as we know it?

I like this theory. I know its similar to a holographic universe theory, but not quiet the same.

Thoughts?

lot of words for early A.M. (I need more coffee)

does it sum up to "We are God's Sims"? I totally agree then

Yes ! His name is the Architect and we're in the 7th version of the Matrix

all kidding aside, yeah as an IT guy I often wondered if this would be possible... almost border line creationism isn't it ?

This is why I BSOD each weekend.

And I thougt it was just my joystick, who could know it was simple faulty coding.

Ahha!

And Quantum entanglement. It does seem like some sort of bug or glitch in the code, doesn't it...

I think the whole universe could be like a sandbox simulation with many teams controlling different races of AI beings and the goal could be to build them up from single cell organisms to masters of the universe destroying any other beings that opposes them or does not join them.

I would say it's technologically possible, look how far computers and video games have come just in the last 40 years and think what could we achieve in the next 100 or 1000 or even in 1,000,000 years.

Star and flag, good post, great thoughts. I am no programmer, but have often thought of human reality as a computer program, complete with glitches and built in defaults. You might be on to something here.

ive been thinking about this a lot lately after watching shows like this: - what is reality? www.youtube.com...
the disapointing thing about this program was that they never theorized who might have created this program.
isint that the #1 question you would ask if you thought this was all just an elaborate program???

there i a scientist at fermilab that has built a device to find out if the universe is a hologram- the holometer.
he said that he should have an answer in about a year or so,-wouldnt it be cool if thats what 2012 is all about? a new understanding of reality.

There's the Simulation Hypothesis but AFAIK it's not falsifiable thus utterly pointless in any meaningful sense. Other than that, I think you're anthropomorphising way too much here.

Programming is way past the logic that we currently use with our programming. Read an article I wrote on the image of God in physics. LINK

Hi,

I like your ideas,

In fact I have had very similar thoughts since 1999 when I had a certain experience, which I believe showed me where this Universe is being projected from.

The system is programmed based on fractle iterative mathematics, our binary universe is made of waves, frequencies, with a simple outcome, where by something either does or does not happen, there is no grey area.

The simple choice between somthing happening a "1" state or not happening a "0" state, is chaos theory, fractle iterative mathematics, or infinity. This is the hidden secret or "thumbprint" of God.

Since as you correctly suggest, we can create our own worlds within a computer system, see PS3/Xbox etc, which have all the correct laws of physics and given that everything we understand about our Universe shows that it is binary based (light or dark, yes or no, 1 or 0) with the likes of Prof. Steve Hawkins recently stating that we humans are an individual "computer", it stands to reason that we were created/programmed into existance.

As was pointed out to Hawkins, 'show how one single computer here on earth just came into being and constructed itself without intervention'... it didn't. Therefore if we are computers, then everything around us, is in fact generated/projected from somewhere else and we just "receive" the frequencies or data being transmitted. I firmly believe that our material world is completely generated, is very much fixed in what happens here, the fractle generation of nature and not in all man made structure is clear even to those who have not yet ventured into the other realm.

In my opinion, the Universe is a fractle based program, with a binary result/outcome, our consciousness is seperate from the program, permanently connected, we are 'injected' into the universe from the created side or soul side and thus we have a permanent 'way back' into the other realm/universe when it's time to 'leave the game' (see the opening titles of "Little Big Planet" Playstation 3 game, narrated by Steven Fry, for a idea of this 'connection' principle).

Since my experience back in 1999, I have always wondered if perhaps Suns are holographic projectors?

Regards.

Judging by what he did when he made the platypus, I would bet that he is a comedian.

so if this is all just a hologram, then are we really biological beings?

If the universe is just a giant quantum computer than we are still biological beings. We are just part of a big, giant biological computer.

Right?

Oh dear, I've gone cross-eyed.

Yes and no....

We are described as biological beings within our universe but are just a set of frequencies, fractle based data that constructs our shape/size/looks/etc, within the defined 'program'.

The 'oneness' lots of people who have been enlightened describe, is the understanding that everything is created within the program, so in essence your biological body is no different from a rock.

Regards.

Perhaps the code has the ability to code itself.,and forecast itself.
Start of with some kind of code with randomness built in somehow.
Then the code anagrams what people say. It anagrams what they write.
People give new names to new inventions, "laser" or "airplane" for example.
As new words are added. New anagram possibilities are created.
If therefore, the future was somewhat based on some anagram code,
creating new words would create new future possibilities.
The present would be based on the anagramed past.
The past could be "seen" by anagrams of the present.
The future could be forecast and one skilled in the art could
position himself to benefit from it.

Consider: Anagrams of "The Golden Ratio" Contain references to Christ.

Some anagrams of "The Golden Ratio" are:

I'd let a throne go.

And I got the role

The "One God" trail

The "God-One" trial

Tho God, tree-nail

The God nail tore

O, the legion dart!

The Latin gored!

So there it is , all condensed into "The Golden Ratio"

I think you OP is on the right track but you need to also consider if god is

1. The program
2. The programmer
3. Operating System
4. CPU
5. A network being everywhere all at once.

The brain and eyes take in something like 100mb of data bits but only something like 200 bytes a second end up in long terms storage

DNA is like binary code except it's base four and could be the code to program the object (Person) that runs in a Application (World) that has laws of maths and physics (Instruction set)

Hope we are not creating the next god called Google who's watching our every move as it is and needs taking down.

It is interesting that when I read a certain section of The Book of Enoch, this is what exactly it seemed like what they were talking about in the section about Metatron (who Enoch becomes). They start to call him Metatron which has been translated as : META=BEYOND and TRON=Matrix, in greek....(Source)
So literally in greek his name means beyond the matrix. Weird if you ask me, that proves maybe God did the original programming and Metatron has the reins now while God takes a vacation? Also it is stated Metatron becomes the "Lesser YHVH" the lesser God. This is some really compelling stuff. (I know what some people would say that this book is just a fantastical story.) All I need to know is if sacred geometry has been used in the concept of quantum computers. Sacred Geometry is important and I believe it has something to do with the coding of the universe, ie quantum computer.

But, I am curious, why when I can choose an avatar for the Sims or any game on PC or xbox or ps, It's up to me or I could randomize it (I don't leave anything to chance), but it seems we have no choice over our avatars here? Maybe you have to go within certain range of available traits from your chosen parents? Um, in that case I should have chosen different parents lol.
