I can only speculate of course, and add that he might have joined with the thought of the Masons being "all powerful" as most conspiracy sites like to claim, having the highest influence on the worlds stage. Like so many who think that way, after joining, they realize, it's just not how Freemasonry works.

(I'll admit, sometimes I do butter up the mystery when talking to my friends about Freemasonry, but I never lie about it)

I don't think it's the Masonic Knights Templar, unless there are a few in the Masonic Knights Templar with the same twisted minds as Breivik. Yes, and that is the thing, sometimes people join because they believe the negative stuff some people talk about on conspiracy websites. I am willing to bet that's what he did.
