hmm.... I answered all the questions and got this

You haven't answered enough questions to accurately recommend a product. Try going back and answering more questions

Guess they didn't like my answers...

Ill be honest. I guess im mediocre with computers here is my setup:

Windows 7 ultimate (installed myself)
Avaria AntiVir antivirus program
SpyBot - search and destroy
no firewall (is this a problem? some say yes while others say no)
no spam or phishing software (problem?)
No "privacy software" (again, problem?)

Thank you in advance

You may want to add these two to your running config

www.qfxsoftware.com...

www.spyshelter.com...
edit: If your a regular email user to a friend or cough cough girlfriend or what ever then you should have an encryption tool at hand. There are many free and above average software around the net, it all depends on what you would like to use it for oh and yes, always have a firewall running.

Just go to CNET > downloads > free software

It really depends on how you use your computer, and how much system resourses you have, I took my old POS computer and put the following programs through a vigorous test of NO-NO Sites. what wasn't stopped by ZA was caught by MSE and IMF. I've also brought countless computers back from the grave with these programs.

Zone Alarm - Firewall (Bogs down internet a bit, and will ask permissions in the begining, but solid firewall freeware.)

Microsoft Security Essentials - Virus Protection (Microsofts free version of OneCare, uses a bit more RAM then other programs, but does an excellent job at protection AVG, Avast, Avira missed)

IOBit Malware Fighter - Malware & Spyware (use to be called IOBit 360, finds and monitors for ware activity)

Advanced System Care - Optimizer (One of the best Optimizer/Tool and every so often can find a key for free PRO use ; )

Thanks, I didnt think of key logs. I know windows has a default firewall, but I doubt this is good enough. Ill look for a third party.

A lot of us seem to feel secure using a browser that allows us to seem anonymous (Tor for example) and finding ourselves still hunted down as potential clients and future customer to some unknowing product or service we have never heard of...hmmm....what happened?

There is no safety net...there is no way to be secure anymore...in my honest opinion...we are doomed to be subjected to the filing system of those that would like to know us better and want our money...no way around it...doomed!

Secure your personal information by not giving it away...and make sure your not trusting of anyone...that seems to be the only way...otherwise your wide open!!!!

If your running Firefox with all adblockplus and have clicked the above link in my previous post you probably were in for a slight shock.

Now if you don't have noscript installed then install it and press the link again and see the difference, but keep in mind this site is not friendly to noscript running, so you will need to disable it again for you to post reply. Goes to show how things are moving along in the world.

addons.mozilla.org...

Like most people I've used most Internet Security programs out there...Kaspersky, BitDefender, Webroot, Norton...the list goes on and on. The best all around program IMO is Comodo.

www.comodo.com...

Best of all...it's FREE!

They offer other packages of the same program for your typical $39-$50 a year but the only difference in the software is the that they offer some live support. The free and pay for offerings are exactly the same and offer the same security...

I highly recommended them...
