I was so excited to get some shots of the lunar eclipse last night!

But, it is alot harder that i thought it would be. So let me apologize for the quality of the images, even though i had my camera on a tripod, i still could not get them very crisp.

And my 200mm lens was just not enough. lol

Anyway, at least you can see the awesome blood red colour of the moon.

Again, very hard for me to have gotten it sharper, and there was a nasty wind blowing, so stabilizing the camera was tough. I do apologize, but hopefully you can enjoy it anyway.

If anyone else have pics, please share.

Beautiful mate, nice catch. There's something magical about our planet and the universe and were very lucky to gaze upon it, s+f

Amazing shots! Thanks for sharing. I was there too, my balcony heads SE so watched it rise and slowly de-cloak, followed with my Nikon binoculars. Beautiful.

I think I saw a (low) satellite too, should check the tracker.

Funny you mention that, because i saw some strange things, last night during the eclipse, lots of shooting stars, and maybe things that might have been satellites. My mother in law, said she saw two things flying very very fast overhead not more than 300 meters high. What this was i have no idea though.

Agree. I too had that feeling of stellar over-activity above our heads last night

I'll see if I can catch again the same moving star tonight. it's a small region I can map quite comfortably from my balcony Will use this www.n2yo.com

Yes thanks for the photos. Like some one else said it was cloudy and raining where I live. Would have loved to have seen this as it happened.

Great shot!
I tried on our cruddy camera at 4:30am this morning, watched till 5:30
Needles to say I’m shopping for a new camera!
And THEN my mother told me off for not ringing her to remind her when it was happening!
Yeah right!
It was very beautiful though…
Well done

OMG!
How weird! Just scrolled up from my post and saw this.
I too saw little lights moving around/ in front of the moon as it got dark.
I put it down to bad glasses…but I saw heaps of darting lights!
