A lot of these Senators are old and have no idea how this technology works.
The Lobby groups therefore find it very easy to bamboozle them with industry speak and techno babble.

There should be a law that a Senator can't vote on any bill or law that he is totally clueless and in the dark about.
That would stop this kind of rot in it's tracks.
I often wonder what politicians do all day. If they can't even take the time to research what they are voting on.

When someone posts on youtube, it is known that that video is going to be viewed and or shared!

It's not greed it's simple economics. Fact is the material is already protected, yet people still infringe on the rights of artists to get something for free. Music and TV, Movies and Documentaries are all a business that wants to make money via advertising and selling DVD/CD's.
When you remove their ability to make sales, you are surprised they fight back?

People blatantly break the laws when they pass around music thats protects, or movies and the like. No real punishment is available so the laws continue to get broken while the people who want to make a living off their art are stuck getting next to nothing for it.

Should we starve the artists then, remove their ability to make money? I am not talking about big corporations either as they can make money using other means, instead of using artists.
