I was kindof thinking that same thing. It doesn't make any sense to go after users.

I'm sorry but wouldn't Youtube be the first ones they target? They offer the embed feature to begin with, if they didn't want their videos to be spread there wouldn't be a giant SHARE button under them.

Actually some thoughts and ideas can be considered intellectual property.

en.wikipedia.org...

Though, since it is youtube and a free website, the videos embedded do not create money, so there really shouldn't be a regulatory law on it.

If they wanted to make a big deal out of it, it really doesn't have any standing in court because the senator/corporate U.S. doesn't own google/youtube or the videos being embedded, so it has no authority.

Maybe these senators need outing and then maybe a visit to let them know who pays their wages to fund their luxury life styles while America lives on scraps and those scraps are stuff with GMO crap they also agree for more bungs.

World has gone mad

Going after users is the easiest thing to do, don't you know? They always go after users (of gas, food, alcohol, tobacco, bailouts) rather than going after the all-important corporations. But it makes total sense because the corporations are the ones who own these senators' asses. QED.

you're rather confused. We are talking about embedding youtube videos? Typically if people want a song, they download the MP3, not a video of it. And artist's barely make a decent % off CD sales. most of their money comes from touring. Just because someone downloads some music doesn't necessarily mean they would have bought it.
