What is the significance - if any - between member status of "member" and "Member"

What is the difference between these two member statuses?

I spot only a few "members" but most are "Members" in the members list.

Why is this? I don't ever remember graduating from being a member to a Member.

First (and very preliminary) guess, is join date?? ( Comparing yours to mine.... )

I don't think so. I've seen a person who is far more recent than my membership.

Must not have anything to do with how new you are...

I have the same as you - I'm a Member as well.

Going by the fact that weed is the only small m in the thread so far I'm gonna suggest that it's being used as a secret mod code to mark out trouble makers

People can have a custom title. That is where the "Free Being" probably is from. If you go to your profile, it is on the bottom of the page.
