Yes unfortunately when you switch it on quantum tunneling causes it to disappear....

Not according to some results... There have been successes in drawing the plenum energy into usable form, but the inventors are "visited" and patents are bought and disappear, or money is offered for silence, or threats are made...and if those don't work, "suicides" and "accidents" occur.

So though there may be issues in some approaches to extracting the plenum ("dark"/Zero Point/radiant/orgone/...) energy, it is not impossible to extract in usable form.
