Is it just me or does anyone else find the SYFY "I cringe at the new spelling" channel pure crap now?

These below B-Movies they produce with elementry school visual effects! .....Unwatchable!
Come on....SHARKTOPUSS....really? [[[snip]]]
They would have made a better choice if they had taken the money they spent on this and alot of other projects and went to Vegas and let it ride.
Battlestar is gone. Now Stargate is ending. And then they put wrestling on!
Once Ghost Hunters and Josh Gates are gone I doubt I"ll even check that station again.

If Star Trek or any other half decent science fiction show produced correctly in the past has proven, is that they will continue to sell for years to come on DVD or whatever format they use in the future that can be packaged and sold.
They will have to PAY me to watch the crap they are making now.
Even the new spelling is an insult to Science Fiction!

Whare House 13, Eureka, and Sanctuary are not cuttung it for me!
Marcels Qauntum kitchen? Now it's the food channel now?
Fact of Faked....with the right equipment "that they access too' you can recreate any video real or hoaxed. More rubbish as far as I'm concerned.

Sorry....It used to be one of my favorite channels now they are wrecking it for a quick buck!

If they do happen to put together a show I might be interested in, I'll wait for it on DVD. I will not give them the satisfaction of me tunning in. They will have to earn my money.

Ok...I might tune in for Doctor Who....And that's just because the DVD's are expensive. But that's it.

Star and Flag for you. We have been disgusted with "SYFY" for awhile now. What adds insult to injury is that we paid more just to have this channel, which can hardly be called science fiction. For the amount of money they spend on their stupid mutated animal films, they could have thought provoking intelligent low budget movies (perhaps without the special effects, but with a great storyline).

I agree, every movie i've seen on there is named closely to a good movie and you are thinking wow on SyFy?? Then its a bunch of bad acting and poor special effects lol

Just a thought but maybe you could try reading some books for once? There are plenty of them out there you know and you might even improve your total knowledge.

"Sharktopuss"?

Sounds like something that should be on "Skinamax".

SYFY lost me when Battlestar Galactica went off the air.
It just wasn't the same.

It almost seems as if they are trying to justify getting rid of the channel

Could someone explain why the name of SciFi was changed?
I have a limited number of stations I watch and this isn't one of them. Used to enjoy
watching back in the late '90's and really enjoyed the channel.

Maybe, too many of the programs weren't as much scifi and cut too close to reality?
What better way than to commit SyFy suicide?

"IF" it was produced today it would have been named "Tooken" (pronounced Took-en)

That channel has lost all sight of what they used to be!
Dang! Sometimes I can find better movies and shows to watch on Chiller!
That's sad. lol
I've pretty much forgot about SyFy of whatever it is, now. A few weeks ago I saw they had a reality/food show on. WTF??!!!!

Brings to my mind TNT and TBS. TNT supposed to be about drama, and TBS is supposed to be about comedy, but sometimes their programming causes me to believe I'm most assuredly on the sister station.

Oh, well. Change is difficult for me.

If only they had fired the executives responsible for the current state of affairs, and given that money to the producers of their decent shows (oh MST3k and Farscape, how I miss thee). The first true sign that they were really heading downhill, aside from the incomprehensible cancellations and the crappy network movies, was the inclusion of the professional wrestling shows. Then they went and changed their name to SyFy because they didn't like the idea of catering to us filthy scifi nerds, and now they've gone and added a cooking show to their line up.

Pretty soon SciFi (screw the new name) won't resemble it's original incarnation at all. Just like how TLC used to have decent educational programs, but is now just a carnival sideshow of little people and women with abnormally large uteruses. The History channel and Discovery are headed in the same direction, what with their lame reality shows about pawn shops and taxidermy or whatever. Actually, if I see one more pawn shop show with a name referencing pornography in some manner, I may just snap!

All I know is that they pulled the plug on SG1.

And they're pulling the plug on SGU. Pisses me off.

Also the plethora of disaster movies, and mutated animal movies are pissing me off.

You all neglected to notice what I've always found to be THE MOST OFFENSIVE...

SciFi was meant to be watched late night Friday and Saturday with a bottomless bowl of buttered, salted, popcorn.

If you ever tune in ANY of your favorite cable channels after about 2 AM, all you will see is infomercials until dawn.

SciFi was all about:

Some old 60's Star Trek / Godzilla / MST3K / Close Encounters / Twilight Zone with Rod Serling / Outer Limits / Plan 9 From Outer Space and of course Rocky Horror Picture Show and Night Of The Living Dead there is so much great SciFi out there...

That channel never lived up to it's potential. Dr. Who on SciFi? I've always found that on PBS until the episodes became too expensive for PBS to afford (even though the Dr. Who fans were the ones making MOST of donations.)

If you are fool enough to PAY $120 a month or so for cable/satellite and get bombarded with commercials for 18-20 hours then straight up hour long commercials for 4 more hours... You get what you deserve.

Sorry, fellow scifi fans but you have been duped. What will it take to get your attention?

Wise up. This is why internet created NewsGroups. Internet is broader and deeper than you can imagine.
