So... still want to celebrate Earth Day?

Earth Day co-founder killed, composted girlfriend

Ira Einhorn was on stage hosting the first Earth Day event at the Fairmount Park in Philadelphia on April 22, 1970. Seven years later, police raided his closet and found the "composted" body of his ex-girlfriend inside a trunk.

What a nice guy.

What a stoopid remark.
Do you really want to associate the verity of the program with the morals of one of the enthusiasts? Once you step through that door, it's kinda difficult to draw back...but I'm sure there are enough ATS members aware of the failings and foibles of the right-wing climate change deniers to engage your debate. Your call...

You're right. I don't have time to debate this issue once again. I edited my post.

The left brands entire populations on a republican, or a Tea Party member, or a protester. Painting with a broad brush is something the left invented.

Finkle and Einhorn connected how? WHY? Einhorn and Finkle, Finkle and Einhorn.... Sorry I got into my Ace Ventura thoughts when the name Einhorn came up.

My question is: Why did they decide to use the word "compost"?
To me it sounds like he just stuffed a body in a trunk with some other stuff, just like all sorts of other murderers have done. That hasn't been called composting before. It says there was Styrofoam in there, but Styrofoam isn't compostable, to my knowledge.
I think it’s to maybe make a better story, so it sound like this guy was an extreme environmentalist or whatever.

His excuse is that the ground needed a better fertilizer and the best one he knows about is a human being, so his girlfriend very bravely volunteered for the fertilizer in hopes to make the soil better.

That looks like deflection to me, and doesn't address my issue. Sorry...you can't write off murdering your girlfriend as an element of the climate change debate.

They invented it, and by their 'logic' they are the only one's that can use it. Hypocrisy is a credo of the Socialist Left.

No deflection. These folks walk around with a "moal superiority" complex telling the rest of the world how to live, while abasing themselves to the moral equivalent of a slug.

no they didn't. "the right" tries to characterize all muslims as violent extremists and an Islamic cultural center in New York as the ground zero victory mosque. All gays are sex-addicted STD riddled child molesters according to "the right."

if you want to blame one side or the other for more or less of this or that then congratulations; you've been duped! You are rooting for one sports team over the other when they all go off into the same locker room at half-time! now go off and graze and baa baa baa with all the other sheep.

Typical. Another apologist, who bashes anyone who says something other than spoon-fed by the MSM. Tired arguments. What's next? *yawn* the race card?

The Original Left must have begun around the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, then, because 'broad strokes' were quite evident, apparently:

An interesting side note on the Albigensian Crusade is that it provides the basis for the well known and popular saying among U.S. members of the military, "Kill'em all and let God sort'em out." This saying is printed on T-shirts and heard on U.S. military bases as an informal creed for more intense military groups like the Marines, Rangers, and Special Forces. It was initially Arnaud Armaury, Abbot of Citeaux, who when asked how to distinguish which citizens of Beziers were Catholics and which were Cathars, reportedly replied, "Kill them all, God will know his own."

So... how did this story of a composted gf in some guys closet become a left/right partisan issue? You mean to say no Republicans ever had weird hobbies?

Plenty of republicans, conservatives, progressives, liberals, democrats, libertarians, communists (opps already said liberal :lol
have weird "hobbies" and are freaks. But how many preach a moral superiority and later are left "wanting" in that regard?
Just recently, there was a GOP who had eyes for another lady other than his wife. Scum. Repulsive behaviour. As stated by all sides.
But the left has a difficult time "eating their own". They tend to be apologists, and deflectors, painting others with the same issues rather than stating that what someone did was just plain wrong.
At least that's my take on the left/right issue of this thread.

Well, obviously this guy, living in an apartment but wanting to celebrate and save the earth, needed to get compost from somewhere. that to me shows the zealot nature of eco freaks lol

This doesn't make sense to me. Do you think it's a bad thing when "the left" does it, or do you admire it and want to emulate it?

Also, where does this "composted" claim come from? It's bad enough the guy is a murderer -- why are you tying it to composing in that weird way, when nothing of the sort happened?

Maddux's beaten and partially mummified body stuffed into a trunk that had also been packed with Styrofoam, air fresheners and newspapers.

Nobody composts with styrofoam and air fresheners.

I'm stating what I observe. My interpretation of how the left generalizes, groups people.
I'm a Tea Party member. So I am in a category with preset notions of what I beleiveand how I act, based on the generalizations from the left. They group, generalize, and isolate by placing people into categories.
Smokers.
Meat eaters.
Conservatives.
Tea Party.

Even folks that are gay. The shock and denial that liberals have over log-cabin republicans is funny.

Here we hav an environmental guy. Preaching earth day, global (I think it was cooling, then), environmental ideologies to the unwashed heathens of the word.
But he couldn't even keep his own moral compass straight. Yet, instead of agreeing that he was a whack-job, there is a defense for someone like that because of his particular political bent.
