Far side of the moon

I was just on the nasa web site and i was looking at the moon pic, you can now see the far side of the moon
sorry if this has been put up before but thought i would put it foward there is pic but not sure
how to put it up....

The seam is the result of stitching multiple images together to make one.

Nipping this in the bud right now before the "Moon is an alien Death Star" crowd shows up.

you should try and use the search function before making a thread.. or what i do is use common sense and realise something like this would be put on this site within hours of it being released by nasa.. that picture is a month and a half old..

Far side of the moon revealed in amazing mosaic of orbiter images!

It is a fun find. We've had pix of the far side for more than 50 years, but I like having this interactive globe that we can zoom-in on. The average resolution is much better than Google-Moon. This is actually one of six zoomable mosaics that ASU released recently. Each one is centered on a latitude of longitude 60-degrees from the next. The links are in the link above.
