It's like a thought crime the way its represented.

It was an adult oriented chat room. If somebody starts playing toward a rape fetish or a daddy fetish can they be charged with sexual assault or incest?

So is the crime real or just virtual? Can you do real time for a thought crime?

Maybe if he was in some Disney chat room or something I could see a charge but the article says it was an "adult" chat room. No fantasy/roleplay allowed in the adult chat rooms?

Nope, I didnt read the whole thing.

Yeah, in the light of that past discretion of his he's totally past thought crime and well into predation.

In this case my initial post probably doesnt hold any weight but I think it's a valid concern nonetheless.

This is the third time in 10 years this kiddie #er has been caught doing this. Maybe he could play the whole “I’m being framed for telling the truth” once .. BUT COME ON PEOPLE! He’s got some kind of pathology here.

On a related not, I always thought the Iraqi’s had something on him. Litteraly in the course of like 2 months he went from being one of the most vocal Iraq hawks to one of the loudest “why’s everyone picking on Iraq” choirboys.

I think the Russians got something on him when he was working there (in Russia) in the early 90's.

I read the OP and it said adult chatroom. Then I read the article and this was in there. Exactly what I thought.

The fact is most US politicians, judges, police chiefs, high govt officials have closets full of skeletons.
Thats how they rise to positions of power. When they get there they`re shown a few pics or whatever, then they can be blackmailed for the rest of their careers. Just like old J Edgar Hoover was blackmailed for 50 years by the mob among others.

Males can be interesting with their sex lives. Sometimes wives know, sometimes not. Mr.Ritter is a man with a very interesting sex life. What drove him to his particular fantasy, I do not know and am not a psychologist. But, if he never crosses the line to actually using a girl, then he does nothing legally wrong.

I doubt the fact that he was vindicated about his pre-Iraq War accusations and opinions brought him any solace. Rather, knowing you know you were right about a situation that went terribly wrong and nothing you did could stop it, could drive one further to despair.

Mr. Ritter's warnings fell on deaf ears.
