It's like a thought crime the way its represented.

It was an adult oriented chat room. If somebody starts playing toward a rape fetish or a daddy fetish can they be charged with sexual assault or incest?

So is the crime real or just virtual? Can you do real time for a thought crime?

Maybe if he was in some Disney chat room or something I could see a charge but the article says it was an "adult" chat room. No fantasy/roleplay allowed in the adult chat rooms?

Males can be interesting with their sex lives. Sometimes wives know, sometimes not. Mr.Ritter is a man with a very interesting sex life. What drove him to his particular fantasy, I do not know and am not a psychologist. But, if he never crosses the line to actually using a girl, then he does nothing legally wrong.

I doubt the fact that he was vindicated about his pre-Iraq War accusations and opinions brought him any solace. Rather, knowing you know you were right about a situation that went terribly wrong and nothing you did could stop it, could drive one further to despair.
