Green U2U Message Notice

Does anyone else miss this feature? I like the excitement from such a vivid notification and the new ones I barely notice down there in yellow. Leave well enough alone?
Don't get me wrong, I love this site and all the bells n whistles, and appreciate all that went/goes into the upgrades, but I miss my green contact alert....Guess there are more important things to be concerned with, but hey this is the chit in my chat today.

um.. I still get a big pop up notice on top when I have new u2u

Yes, mine started showing up highlighted in yellow at the bottom of the page in the ribbon section. The normal "message" button now turns yellow when I have a message. Now how come we are getting 2 different things?

ok now I got your msg as a yellow box at the ribbon below, no pop up anymore..
must be something new because I know I had the pop up just two days ago.

There was a thread a few days ago complaining about the pop up and it got changed. I prefer the pop up, but you can't please all the people all the time.

Thanks, and the more I think about it, there are many more important things going on than my current little observation quibble.

Thanks BH, this is heelarious because that thread was more of a complaint about messages in general, and I think the switch to the yellow ribbon notification may have been a result of that thread. Then, I come in here complaining about the change! Oh ATS, it is so hard to please everyone, and I do understand, so disregard my comments, it will all work out.

What!!!

The new message system is my favorite thing besides the ribbon and post reply feature. I was SOOO happy not to have that damn box in my face all the time. Try alerting 13 threads and having those pop up all the time, it's not fun to get a message then, it's annoying. lol

yea I noticed it just a couple days ago...I did the happy dance

I never liked the box, thought it was a bit much.

I also don't like it because certain people like to U2U when they have threads and it gets annoying when it comes thru multiple times. I don't need you to U2U me when you have threads, I can see them in my friends new threads feed!

So yay for the yellow box at the bottom! Woot woot! lol

if the yellow box works, it's all fine by me...
the previous system with the big box didnt always notify, when I did trust upon it to check my msg box. Missed a lot of u2u because of it.
