no k nown injuries yet but it is probably too early to tell. So much for just a no fly zone. Looks like they are out for his head.

I don't think they cam say it was hit in error. The report said there were two holes consistant with missle strikes. When they say they won't go after someone you can be sure they are.

A summary would be nice, but since since it's so short....

Qaddafi's Compound Hit By Missiles, No Reported Injuries

The 4-story compound in downtown Tripoli that was home to Libyan leader Muammar al-Qaddafi was demolished by missile attacks, according to reporters near the area.

There was no known injuries at it remains unclear where the leader has been living since the no-fly zone was ordered.

There were two circular holes in the roof, which is consistent with a missile strike, and rubble littered the street. It remains unclear when the strike occurred, reported Fox News’ Steve Harrigan.

Pentagon official had previously said Sunday that the coalition “will not be going after Qaddafi.”

I was just saying give a little more info about what the article said. It was pretty short, though, so no worries. To do what I did, though, press the "EX-TEXT" button on the "POST A Reply/Comment" page. Then paste the text into that box.

"There were two circular holes in the roof, which is consistent with a missile strike"

Couldn't help but think to myself....I'd sure like to compare those holes to the one in the Pentagon on 9-11.

Those missiles look expensive, and there are probably more money pouring into those missiles.

was qadhafi's compoud about to clear the runway and head to benghazi on a bombing run.

the international community needs intelligence lessons on how to identify aircraft.

this sham is nothing more than a declaration of war. last time i checked tanks don't fly so how is destroying them fall under a "no fly zone".

when they have sufficiently crippled libya's entire army, including flying infantry on jet packs, they are going to claim qadhafi is going to destroy the oil fields.

when that happens they are going to declare that the future of the libyan people depends on that resource and they are going to put boots on the ground to defend them.

then the invasion is complete, an america airbase constructed, and a corrupt puppet government installed for the "benefit" of the libyan people.

it's scary how the new world order has perfected this technique.

He may be losing his mind but does anyone really expect him to sit in his 'known residence' sipping tea watching the carnage?

This man's underground in a bunker.

Maybe this was a deliberate strike so he now has no one to 'reign' from, you know, like a symbol of a tyrant?

Im wondering if killing Ghadaffi is meant to be a purposeful trigger to fire up the entire Arab world against the WEST!

The fact that it is an illegal action by the UN going against the no fly zone resolution makes me think that TPTB want to ignite a regional conflict at this point in time...

why?

maybe economic? maybe some other reason but it seems WAR is on the tip of everyones tongue, its just that Obama doesnt want to be seen as the one starting it, he wants it to look like the UN has started it.

WE as in singular (USA) are not going to war. WE (USA) are playing a supporting role in a coalition action that is sanctioned, supported, and ratified by multiple international organizations that include the UN, NATO, and the Arab League. The US portion of the operation should be over within the next few days. France, the UK, Canada, Italy, and a few Middle Eastern countries have taken the initiative in this operation. This exact situation is the reason why organizations like NATO and the UN even exist. They gave Gaddafi ultimatums which he chose to ignore.

The US is finally taking action in an appropriate way with international approval and there are members here getting heated over it. The Libyan rebels have been pleading for assistance for the past month and they're finally getting in. The right way. This is not the 2003 invasion all over again. Everything was done right this time. We (a collective international federation of countries) are assisting a rebel movement to oust a dictator that has killed thousands of civilians in the weeks leading up to the operation.

Think of it this way, a hypothetical of course. Say there was a revolution or an uprising in your country of residence against your current form of government. The rebel faction in your country is fighting a David vs Goliath battle. That faction asks for assistance from outside sources to support the uprising. Would you be upset if aid came if you were in their situation??

Turning a blind eye to blatant tyranny and oppression just leads to more of the same. To answer your question, Why are we going to war with Libya?

We're going to war with Libya to assist an oppressed people in overthrowing a tyrannical dictator who would rather machine-gun protesters rather than listening to the voice of the people.
