If I'm reading GEE correctly here, something either large, or close to the sensor has just gone off, 13:32 UTC.

Hopefully close and small.

Let me add, YokosoNewsLive is reporting the last earthquake was NOT an aftershock but a whole new earthquake series from the Fuji area.

SKY news was saying on the ticker thing down the bottom of the screen that all reactors at all plants are in a safe and stable condition.
Then on Fox news the ticker said Japan was thinking of asking the U.S to use its helicopters to get water into the reactors - that sounds quite desparate .

So, conflicting inferences can be drawn here

The quake in the fuji region is troubling as it is along the same fault that went off out west of Honshu if I am correct. It shows that the siezmic stresses are dancing around the network of faults in the area. The series of separate quakes that have occurred along he fault west of the main island have been due to enegy coming in from the fault east of Honshu.

There's still a HUGE amount of energy being released and stresses being echoed throughout the region. It's daunting to contemplate. Not to mention the corresponding movements that are showing up as quakes in the south of California/north Mexico.

Shikori makes an interesting argument in this thread that ties it together and explains far more eloquently than I am capabale of.

Robin speaks of the free ossicilation of the earth and it ignites an awesomely immens impression of what the globe is experiencing at the moment in my mind. Try to imagine if you can the interference patters that are still echoing as a result of the 9.0(9.1 depending on who you ask)

I am wondering if there's been any appreciable change to the magnetosphere along with the obvious change to the rotational axis. Are there any people who routinely monitor this area present? I look at the readings and simulations occasionally but not enough to know if there's been any noticeable difference since the large quake.

I know westcoast and others have watching GEE for a while and hat she specofocally had mentioned that odd patterns have shown up on many seismos prior to the large quake. Is there a possible correlation to the activity that's going on in Japan right now?

I'm rambling right now, and that tells me I'm nervous on a deep level that doesn't normally show. I pray and wish well for those in Japan and those who have ties to this through the bonds of friendship and family.

Seems to have gone a bit quiet, or is it just me? Reports suggest radiation levels at the plant are dropping and we don't seem to have had a "oh jeez, what now?!?!?" moment for a couple of hours.

Trying to stay positive here...

I see in your sig where you say your prediction of this quake came true, but the date you predicted was March 17th. Also, no year was given, but the post linked is from March 17, 2010 which leads one to believe you were talking about that March 17th. So it seems you were off by almost a year. If we are to be generous and say you weren't predicting the year (which seems a lot less useful as predictions go) then all you got right was the month which you had a 1 in 12 chance of anyway. And yes, you did pick Japan, but um, it the most seismically active nation on earth, so that's no great feat. Unfortunately, since you gave the wrong day though, you should be honest about it and admit you were wrong. I mean, yeah I might give credit for getting close had the year been predicted, but since it was the cosmos giving you the answer you'd think it (being the cosmos) would be able to be a bit more precise.

Yokoso news is off line now - if these were new quakes and not aftershocks
we should be vigilant for tsunami's.
