First off, MODS: I tried the Search Function and it did not appear to work.
Please feel free to move to proper location or Delete.

Arizona State senators submit wide range of bills targeting illegal migrants.
Yes Folks it's my State of Arizona Again and I'm Proud to Live Here. Also let me make this Statement: I'm a Nationalized American Citizen, I went through the process Legally, Yes, I'm married to an American Citizen, But I had to wait and come over on a Visa Like Every One Else!!!!!

Now down to business,,,,,Senate Bill 1611 is plan and simple.
Here it is so you can read for your self.

Requires proof of legal status to:

- Operate a vehicle in Arizona. Offenders would face a class 1 misdemeanor, 30 days in jail and would forfeit the vehicle to the state.

- Enroll a student in any public or private K-12 school. Schools must report violations to law enforcement and the Arizona Department of Education.

- Attend an Arizona community college or university.

- Get any sort of federal public benefits, including emergency medical services.

- Get a vehicle title.

- Purchase a new vehicle.

- Register a vehicle.

- Get public housing. It also requires landlords that receive public-housing funds to evict any resident that allows an illegal immigrant to "reside" in their unit.

- Get a fingerprint card.

- Get any sort of license in Arizona, including a marriage license.

It also:

- Requires all individuals that administer or process public benefits to check legal status. Employees or supervisors that fail to report violations face a Class 1 misdemeanor. - Creates a sentence of at least 180 days in jail for stealing an identity for the sake of getting employment.

- Permits federal immigration officers or an officer "authorized by the federal government to verify a person's immigration status" to determine immigration status.

- Requires employers to prove to the state Attorney General's Office that they are using E-Verify to check the legal status of their employees. Requires the Attorney General's Office to suspend the business licenses of violators.

- Requires the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board to revoke the certification of any law-enforcement officer who refuses to enforce Arizona laws.

I support this as well.

You don't need to be racist to support any bill making it harder for illegals to remain here illegally.

It is very beneficial to both sides. I have seen and know (I live in the south) of illegals that were hired to work under the table. They are sometimes grossly mistreated, under paid, made to work 90 hours a week for 30 hour pay, and they are unable to report these employers because they too are breaking the law. They have been assaulted, robbed, and their houses have been broken into... again being illegal they have no recourse.

It is a sad thing to be in that position.

Entering in legally provides oppurtunities for our country as well as the immigrants.

I also wanted to include in this thread about the Birthright Debate.

Again, I Agree 100% with this also, and again,,,, I'm Not A Nazi or Racist, I believe we a citizens of the state of Arizona are Taxed and Taxed and Taxed, for people that need assistance and some of those peoples are here illegally and this is to include their children born here, Not to Americans Citizens, But to people of other countries that are here with out the proper documentation, Illegals!

OK, The Birthright Debate is a fallows,
Sen. Ron Gould, R-Lake Havasu City, the primary sponsor of the Senate bills aimed at challenging the interpretation of the 14th Amendment, said at least one parent of all children born in Arizona would have to prove their legal status under the bill.
"It won't be any more difficult than their parents proving they are eligible to vote in Arizona," Gould said.

Senate Bill 1308 seeks permission from Congress to set up a system in which states can create separate birth certificates for children who meet a new definition of a citizen and those who do not. SB 1309 creates that new definition of citizen, defining children as citizens of Arizona and the U.S. if at least one of their parents was either a U.S. citizen or a legal permanent U.S. resident.

Now Read This From The Democrats:
But Democrats and some more moderate Republicans say the bills distract from the state's efforts to attract jobs and restore the economy.
OK, Let's think about this,,,,,,, OK, Attract JOBS? What you need illegals to Attract Jobs? Like Microsoft or IBM or Dupont?
Now Restore The Economy????? Let Me Think,,,,, Less illegals working in fast food restraints,,, summer jobs for teenagers,,, less illegals working in construction, More jobs for Americans that work construction,
Less illegals roofing and painting housing for a person with out a contractors license and doing land escaping, more JOBS FOR AMERICANS,,,, I think that would Restore the Economy.
At Least One Parent Born Here,,, What's so hard about that?
If not born in America how about here legally? Come to America Legally and you'll find the American people are the BEST!
OK, I'm done now.

Alucard666, There is a Chance of This Happening,,,,, Indiana lawmakers pass immigration curbs like Arizona.
INDIANAPOLIS (Reuters) - The Indiana senate passed a sweeping immigration bill that echoes Arizona's tougher measures on illegal immigrants and despite opposition from some of the largest employers and business groups in the state.

The measure, passed on Tuesday night by a vote of 31-18, would allow state and local police to ask a person stopped for infractions like traffic violations for proof of legal residency if the officer has a "reasonable suspicion" they may be in the country illegally.

Source: finance.yahoo.com...

Alucard666, Truthfully I think more and more States are going to follow suit. The cost of maintaining the illegals in a state is to high and they drain the states economy so badly, that they will have to do something.

Just my thoughts.

mydarkpassenger, Thank You My Friend and it has been, we are very Happy in America and if I didn't Love and Respect America as Much as I Do, I would have kept my Peoples Republic of China Citizenship.
I was a Socialist / Communist all of my young life and most of my adult life. I knew what it meant to not be Completely Free, But Not Until I Came To America Did I Know What Freedom Really Was!

I can move and travel and say what is on my mind about any subject, I can choose for myself, what home and neighborhood I want to live in, I can change jobs and better myself.

And I Thank My Lucky Star, My Husband Loved Me and Brought His Small Family To America.
NOW,,, As much as I Love My State of Arizona, I have to admit,,, Missouri Ahead of the Game in Dealing with Illegal Immigrants.
In 2007, the Missouri General Assembly approved HJR 7 to place on the ballot a proposed constitutional amendment designating English as the official language of Missouri. Voters then went to the polls and approved the measure with nearly 90 percent voting in favor.
This Needs To Be Done In Every State!!!

Another measure that directly addresses the issue of illegal immigration was passed in 2008. HB 1549 requires our Highway Patrol and other law enforcement officials to verify the immigration status of any person arrested, and inform federal authorities if the person is found to be here illegally.

2009 saw another significant piece of legislation passed dealing with illegal immigration. HB 390 ensures Missouri’s public institutions of higher education do not award financial aid to individuals who are here illegally.

So while Arizona has made national news for its new law, it’s important to remember Missouri has been proactive in addressing this growing problem. The laws we have on the books help ensure the rights and benefits of Missourians are preserved for actual Missouri citizens.

Having read through the draft of the bill, as it is written there are a few things that will be found to be objectionable by the courts, and can be challenged. The first thing that could be challenged, is that it denies the right of bail to anyone who is arrested, and can not prove or have proved that they are a citizen of the United States. It fails to reason, that most people who would travel, to the state of Arizona, would not carry a birth certificate or more than one form of ID. It is unreasonable on such, especially when such is not acceptable in other states.
The courts have decided in a prior case that it is against the wall to deny medical services to anyone in the country, especially when they walk into an Emergency Room. It is inhumane and violates the basic tenants of human rights and decency, as well as, would ask doctors to violate their oaths to aid people.
What it does do, that would stand up to muster, is that it holds the people in the public sector accountable for their jobs, to include following the federal and state laws. During the last law, that was making its way through the courts, there were law enforcement personnel who were refusing to enforce the law, even before it was signed, and that is wrong, as it law enforcement officials, can not and should not pick and choose what laws that they will enforce. It is not within their mandate, as it sends a bad signal and message. We are a nation of laws, and those laws should be enforced, along with employers and people who knowingly violate those laws, should be brought and punished, and that too would pass muster.
If this bill in its final passage, is written correctly, it could be argued that it would either pass all court reviews, arguing that the federal government, if the courts strike this down, would also have to strike down federal laws, as they too would be considered illegal.
As was discussed in the current court case, there can not be 2 sets of laws in the country, and it should be noted, that where this law may be considered wrong to some, it should be noted, that sanctuary cities are also wrong to others.

That's your common Liberals way of posting their side of the issue, By not completing the sentence: [ Requires proof of legal status to:]

Here is the Rest of the story, I think we all know how far a Liberal actually read.

You crack me up. Let me ask you a question, if I, a full blooded American, want to attend a community college in Arizona, would I have to show proof of my legal status under this law?

Simple yes or no question

I would have to assume that you would not, My English was Very Poor and I had to show my Green Card, Now our daughter specks very good English and was not asked for her Green Card.
That was at Phoenix Community College and again at Flagstaff University, My English is not perfect and I've been stopped for speeding and I have not been asked for my documents and I was hoping they would ask.
We needed to show our utilities bills so we aren't charged out of state tuition.

I also assume,,,,, Now read this carefully, I said ASSUME,,, your are Hispanic. Why would you worry, you have a copy of your DD214, Right?

And another thing I should mention to you. I will not getting a pissing contest with you about illegals, they have willing broke the Laws of this Country.
Don't give me this story, it cost to much money for a visa, That's Horse $hit! I've done entire posts on how to gain a visa and the normal waiting period.

I had to show an ID when I enrolled in Maricopa County Community College. As far as I know everyone does. You have to prove you are a resident so they know how to bill your tuition.

I'm not asking you to assume. It says requires proof of legal status for etc..... I take this to mean that everyone will have to prove their legal status.

If they ask one person but not the other, you have discrimination. Are you saying they are going to ask people to prove their legal status based on how they speak English.
