Al Jazeera's Cairo office burned down by pro-Mubarak 'thugs'

www.rawstory.com

Al Jazeera's office in Cairo was stormed by a "gang of thugs" and set on fire along with all the equipment inside it, the Arab news network said Friday.

"It appears to be the latest attempt by the Egyptian regime or its supporters to hinder Al Jazeera's coverage of events in the country," the news network said in a statement.

"In the last week its bureau was forcibly closed, all its journalists had press credentials revoked, and nine journalists were detained at various stages.

Man, are tptb ever desperate to stem the flow of news and spotlight of what they are up to, or what?

Shutting down the internet, phone and text service, and press coverage at every turn. Nah, nothing to hide here!

It seems one way or the other they are going to try and keep the masses in the dark and continue to wage war not only upon them, but coverage of any and all of their activities as well.

Some really sick and twisted things going on here.

This probably came from Washington
Al Jazeera's viewership has increased by 2million% since the egyptian protests
That's an accurate figure as well coming from Al Jazeera itself

You don't think so?
Well...
Mubarak Net Worth--$40 to $70 Billion.

Where do you think most of those Billions came from?
YOU!

End Foreign Aid!
It's what keeps dictators in power

The U.S. have been worrying quite a bit with Al Jazeera's increasing viewership in the last couple of days

Its all out in the open, so why assume otherwise, its gone beyond control and the resources given have far exceeded the return.

In plain English, move on.

Why are gang members 'thugs' in the states?

But in the middle east a 'thug' is something else.

What happened to calling everyone a terrorist?

I hate that name calling so complicated.

Point taken, although I think the catch phrase "terrorist" is also the most overused term I have heard by our govs and corpomedia in recent times, no?

And it's usually AGAINST anyone not cooperating with these said entities status quo. EVERYONE is referred to as a "terrorist" anymore, but the biggest ones of all. But again, I see your point.

Why is everything bad that happens the doing of Mubarik thugs or that is how the media is reporting it anyway?? Believe nothing the media reports. They are all lying stooges of the administration. Obama met with the mooslim brudderhood and planned this whole thing out, turns his back on a 30 year US ally and now makes the story fit the situation. He has banned drilling in the gulf even though the courts have held him in contempt now he wants the suez shut down to destroy America more.
