Tucson Survivor Arrested for Death Threats to Tea Party Spokesman

www.mediabistro.com

During a town hall meeting today, that will air tomorrow on ABC’s “This Week with Christiane Amanpour,” a survivor of last Saturday’s massacre in Tucson was arrested for making death threats against a Tea Party spokesman.

Eric Fuller, a disabled veteran who was shot in the knee and who has been making the media rounds — is charged with making threats, intimidation, and disorderly conduct.

During the ABC event, Fuller took a picture of the Tucson Tea Party spokesperson Trent Humphries with his cell phone and said, “You’re Dead.” Deputies immediately escorted Fuller from th

The cycle continues.

It's been only a week and the Tucson tragedy is being treated by the media as a distant memory. The violent rhetoric continues as the families of those who lost loved ones have to live with grief. The nation, as a whole, is nothing more than a bunch of heartless people without any regards to life.

It's a shame that this tragedy, as well as others like it, can't bring the nation together to resolve issues than to divide it even more.

The authorities did send this guy to have a mental evaluation performed.

It would be nice if the author of new threads would title them in relevence to the news article.

This makes doing a search nearly impossible.

This is what happens with unhindered political rhetoric and partisan dogma. The media started flinging blame to the "left and right" before the slain stopped bleeding. You want to spin rhetoric and left and right paradigms to exploit emotional tragedies? Well expect consequences.

We really have become one of the worst countries in the "free world". We are a militaristic, violent, knee-jerk reactionary and ignorant nation that does nothing but kill each other and start wars. The state of America has become a mocking embarrassment to the rest of the civilized world.

You did fine. Duplicate threads can exist in Breaking Alternative News and another forum. Breaking Alternative News headlines must be exactly the same as the news source (as you did), unless there is a prevailing reason to not do so, and then the reason must be stated by the OP.

Thanks argentus.

I posted this news because I found it disturbing in the sense that the media is purposely adding fuel to the left/right rhetoric that's making the tragedy in Arizona seem as though it's less tragic than what it is. The article fails to mention what was said to set James Fuller off.

The real issue of the tragedy is not the left or right agendas nor is it the controversial issue of the 2nd Amendment. It is the disregarding and/or ignoring of an individual who shows the signs of someone who is prone to carry put violent acts.

There are many unsolved murders in the United States as well as many reports missing people. There are also many reports of individuals who display violent behavior who aren't investigated.

It's my conclusion that James Fuller has guilt of being a survivor of last weeks shooting. It's good that he's getting evaluated and he just blurted out threats because of the stress that accompanies this guilt.

We can only be thankful that no one was injured and that he's getting help. We must wish him well instead of labeling him and jumping to conclusions.

This is exactly what I'm taalking about. Everything has to be either left or right when trying to find answers to such acts.

No one is willing to try and find the underlying reasons for someone to commit such violent acts. It's always easier to blame politics.

I fell the same as you. America is on it's way to being a nation of people whose ignorance will rely on what the media spews.

i was telling people from day one (respectfully, i might add) tha jll had threatened her before. i knew it, through letters, emails, maybe in person, whatever method i knew there was a warning....
as it turns out, he did send threat letters, but they saw it as the other "side" trying to scare her into certain policy views.

hows this? if someone takes the time to write out and send a threatening letter to a politician it should be investigated.. if someone gets frustrated because the politician they are watching says he will not talk about gun control until the victims were buried (what set him off btw) and decides to get riled up, they take it seriously, calm him down and talk to him. its easy to lie, but you will betray that lie, even if its in your voice.

this man was shot in the leg, a disabled vet, watched a nine year old die in front of him after watching giffords get shot in the face while he was just trying to get involved in the community. ohhhhh boy, i would have some choice words myself.

you were right, we shouldnt label him
then again the gov shouldnt openly call for someone to commit murder (assange) then condemn the "governed" when they emulate what they are fed on a daily basis.

bit of hypocrisy in there

I can agree with you that when a person sits down to write threatening letters, they have the potential to carry out threats and should be investigated. But then again, when someone write fiction and someone else reads these articles, they could be taken out of context for threats.

To me, when you deliver a threat to someone, that is a legitimate threat.

This guy, Fuller, became irate at the spare of a moment. I believe charges will be eventually dropped because of his situation. He poses no threat. That's just my opinion.
