This is step I have been fearing and the one that I have been expecting for a long time. With the whole airport screening fiasco threatening to spill over to trains and buses and the upcoming roll out of "see something say something" Walmart Gestapo, this couldn't have been far behind. The Federal Government with this act tells me they are ready to truly start turning the citizenry against itself. A dark day for America in the midst of already terribly dark few years.
In a rare and wide-ranging interview, the attorney general disclosed chilling, new details about the evolving threat of homegrown terror, and touched on topics ranging from Wikileaks to the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay.
What was uppermost on his mind, however, is the alarming rise in the number of Americans who are more than willing to attack and kill their fellow citizens. "It is one of the things that keeps me up at night," Holder said.
"You didn't worry about this even two years ago -- about individuals, about Americans, to the extent that we now do. And -- that is of -- of great concern."
Starred and flagged.
How long now till we are complete slaves? What's next? Monitoring voting booths to be sure we vote the right way? Eric Holder is a POS.

Anyone who speaks against, reveals information or challenges the US Govt, is a threat, is therefore the enemy and the enemy is now a Terrorist, Terrorists are not entitled to human rights, should therefore be locked away in a hole with no trial for as long as the U.S. decides.
So let me ask, at what point will an American citizen question their Govt and hold the actions of their administration to account, and not be considered a terrorist? Anyone who questions the evidence which is proof to thier Govt's lies, is someone revealing information which their Govt did not intend to release, information which is secret/top-secret is that which would cripple leaders and damage their credability, this is therefore a risk and how do you deal with a risk? Label them the enemy, a Terrorist and do so by claiming to protect the American people, but not be limited by the power available to persecute American people if they pose a risk to the people by revealing the leaders lies.
The people want truth and transparancy.

They are talking about American citizens who've converted to Islam and are becoming domestic terrorists not your home town red kneck with a gun or your naturalist living in montana. Don't be paranoid.
The threat has changed from simply worrying about foreigners coming here, to worrying about people in the United States, American citizens -- raised here, born here, and who for whatever reason, have decided that they are going to become radicalized and take up arms against the nation in which they were born,"
"Oh My Garsh"... where were you during the 70's/80'ds when we nervously watched thousands of Soviet tanks for an inch of movement toward the Fulda Gap in Germany?????

How was communism a massive threat?? Did I miss something? What sort of threat did the USSR pose that wasn't just as great as that of the U.S? Two different socio-political system yes but non more threatening than the other.

Ohh please, communism has nothing to do with this and has never been a 'threat' to anyone. Go read the manifesto for christ sake. Anyway, i think this has been building up but is still only a minority of people, i think most are still quite apathetic to the situation...but even a small percentage of angry people seem to be unsettling the government.
The Fulda Gap in the Cold War
Theoretical attack routes through the Fulda Gap; the southeastern is Fulda, the northwestern is Alsfeld.
Strategists on both sides of the Iron Curtain understood the Fulda Gap's importance, and accordingly allocated forces to defend and attack it. NATO defence was primarily by the US V Corps. The actual East-West border in the Fulda Gap (see US Army Border Operations in "External links" below) was guarded by the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment (ACR) from 1972 to 1994.
Before 1972, the 14th ACR patrolled the Fulda Gap for twenty-four years, and before them, the duties had been performed by the 3rd Constabulary Regiment and the 1st Constabulary Brigade.
The armored cavalry's (heavy, mechanized reconnaissance units equipped with tanks and other armored vehicles) mission in peace was watching the East-West border for signs of pre-attack Soviet army movement. The armored cavalry's mission in war was to delay a Soviet attack until other units of the U.S. V Corps could be mobilized and deployed to defend the Fulda Gap.
The armored cavalry would have also served as a screening force in continuous visual contact with the Warsaw Pact forces, reporting on their composition and activities. The divisions assigned to defend the Fulda Gap were the 3rd Armored Division [3rd AD], and the 8th Infantry Division (Mechanized) [8th ID].
The V Corps' principal adversary was the Soviet 8th Guards Army, which was to be followed by additional armies (including the 4 armored divisions and 1 mechanized infantry division of the Soviet 1st Guards Tank Army), making the Fulda Gap a key entry route for the Soviet Bloc to western Europe in any hypothetical battle in Cold War Europe; both armies were well-equipped and held high-priority for receiving new equipment.

Who wouldn't watch as large machines designed to kill scores of innocent humans are moved closer to being used? Killing is wrong!
Every side has big scary things meant to intimidate and people get nervous when the crackpots controlling them might use them. Has nothing to do with communism, socialism, or any other ism and has all to do a small majority making large profits using death and the fear of death.
Newsflash - There will never be a political ideal that works on paper. The best we can do is admit we have faults as humans and heavily promote the fact that killing another human is wrong (Unforeseen self defense being the exception to that rule)!
Also promote thet idea that material objects do not define a person. A lot of killing is the result of greed and the egotistical need to appear well off.
