It Begins: Attorny General warns of threat from Radical Citizens

This is step I have been fearing and the one that I have been expecting for a long time. With the whole airport screening fiasco threatening to spill over to trains and buses and the upcoming roll out of "see something say something" Walmart Gestapo, this couldn't have been far behind. The Federal Government with this act tells me they are ready to truly start turning the citizenry against itself. A dark day for America in the midst of already terribly dark few years.

In a rare and wide-ranging interview, the attorney general disclosed chilling, new details about the evolving threat of homegrown terror, and touched on topics ranging from Wikileaks to the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay.

What was uppermost on his mind, however, is the alarming rise in the number of Americans who are more than willing to attack and kill their fellow citizens. "It is one of the things that keeps me up at night," Holder said.

"You didn't worry about this even two years ago -- about individuals, about Americans, to the extent that we now do. And -- that is of -- of great concern."

so assuming the video was not cleverly edited to make it seem like he said something he didn't, this would imply that rule of law has gone out the window.

I don't think the average citizen has to worry about their neighbor, it is the people in power that are probably starting to lose sleep at night. With all the riots going on in Europe I have been wondering when things are going to get started here at home. The new year is going to be very interesting to say the least.

Exactly. Things are getting worse and worse and those in power, in order to remain in power, are going to be doing some very unpopular things. They can tell that the American population is almost at it's breaking point on what it is willing to take. All these things we are seeing done by the DHS and the FCC as regards to the internet are all preemptive strikes. They are basically removing and restricting our ability to respond.

Everyone wants to get rid of Capitalism and our Republic and replace it with Socialism/Communism. This is what you will get EVERY time. Communism used to be the biggest threat to the USA and the world. It still is. But, under the guise of "liberalism" we let them in ther front door and now have given them the keys to the country. You people knew...knew the democratic party has turned into the party of huge government, and still you let this happen. Though I am not perfect, I want this country to adhere to the principles of Liberty, Freedom, and the Constitution, yet...I AM THE RADICAL? I say we bring McCarthyism back. How's that for a radical idea?

Ohh please, communism has nothing to do with this and has never been a 'threat' to anyone. Go read the manifesto for christ sake. Anyway, i think this has been building up but is still only a minority of people, i think most are still quite apathetic to the situation...but even a small percentage of angry people seem to be unsettling the government.

Tell the people of North Korea, Cuba, China, Vietnam, people who grew up in the Soviet Union or East Germany, that communism never hurt anybody. Thanks for showing you true colors.

They did not adhere to the ideals of communism, which you would know if you read Marx. But we are taking the topic off course, apologies to the OP.

The Government already have lists of "subversive citizens" that will be rounded up in the event of war.

I would almost guarantee that many outspoken celebrities, especially people like Michael Moore, would be jailed if the USA was ever attacked or put on a war footing.

There are also many ordinary citizens who would be on the list due to "subversive activities" and would be rounded up and arrested by police and (more likely) the national guard under the guise of national security.

I can pretty much guarantee that people like the "don't touch my junk" guy are on the list as a radical citizen.

UK Government has admitted decades ago that war plans involve rounding up subversive citizens, I would be highly surprised if the same wouldn't happen in the USA.

Agreed. Apologies OP.

Eric Holder and TPTB are just plain stupid. The Citizens are not turning on each other but on a tyrannical government. If he is worried so much about the Citizens, then one way for them to resolve all this is for all of them to step down and resign. That would take care of the biggest part of the damn problem IMO....

OK! Communism was a poor choice of reference! Fact is that there are factions and idealists out there destroying the fabric of our country and society. But those of us who follow and believe all that was afforded to us in the Constitution are deemed "RADICALS". Something is seriously wrong with our current leaders. I believe in Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Therefore, I am proudly a "Radical".

Does this REALLY suprise anyone? We have been moving this direction since bush and comp passed the patriot act and Reagons war on drugs, this is just the next step. The people are getting tired of this so they must now take over the net like they have the other media and start picking up there real targets all along......the free thinkers and outspoken critics. We can still take our country back.....and peacefully too
