The Corporations lost in Calif. but the unions won.

To ex Corporation presidents running for governor and state senator lost.

But the fun has started as the governor elect is a democrat (Governor Moonbeam)and his party has been pushing a boycott of Arizona over the anti criminal laws(anti illegals)
www.moonbattery.com...

Where does the new governor elect decide to go on vacation before taking office even though during the election he supported the Arizona boycott.
You guessed it if you guessed our governor elect went to Arizona for vacation.

Another one of those elite democrats that will tell you anything to get elected.

He ran on a platform of bring jobs back to Calif.
You will see jobs in Calif flipping burgers or working at WalMart but don't expect good paying corporate jobs because the corporations will find states that will not do everything they can to run corporations out of there state. or the country like Calif has.

You can not fight corporations in the long run as they always win.
they can just close down and move to someplace else taking all there jobs with them.

Punishing corporations does not and never has worked in the long run as the only people that really get punished are the people that rely on the corporation.
the workers the customers and the taxpayers.

Corporations always win.
This is because they can always punish any government that tries to take control over them by removing jobs and the tax base they control.
No democratic government has a chance at beating the corporations.
And any non democratic government that has tried to control has had to nationalize the corporations and that always leads to corruption within the system as the party bosses try to line there pockets.

out of "democrats" and "republicans" you can get the letters for "masons"

and out of "reform", the only third party in living memory that garnered something like 19% of the popular vote, and "democrats" and "republicans" you can get the letters for "freemasons"

just like you can get "freemasons" out of "the united states of america"

Great thread!!! S+F!!!

I have been telling everyone I know for awhile now that the left and the right are one in the same, pushing towards the same goals. However, a lot of people out there do not see this whether they want to or not, idk. It is sad to see. We need more people to learn the facts and then maybe something can be done about it. Corporations definitely run the country and dictate what is done.

Spread the word!!!

The key is to eliminate corporate personhood. The corporation is an immortal entity, with no responsibilities. There should be ONE person responsible for any corporation, one person the workers can hang when they all get outsourced, instead of being able to say, "The shareholders want this and that, the board of directors want this and that," This would prevent things like the Deepwater Horizon incident, Bhopal India, etc. among other things

You start off by saying you know it's just a facade, and then degenerate into the "socialist" rant. That shows you do not get the picture.

What is being said is we can have a 100% Conservative government and we'll still have socialist things happening, while we can have a 100% Liberal government and have things Conservatives would want.

There are no socialist and capitalists which matter anymore, it's all corporation. When more people like you get this in their heads we can begin somewhere.

Thanks for the laugh looks like I hit a nerve with you...Sigh. Look up some of my post and you will see how ridiculous your statement about me is. I am not against social programs as long as they are funded voluntarily. Recognizing forced socialism is wrong does not degrade the discussion. My point was there are plenty of avowed socialist even here and they are so caught up in thier belief that government should force it they are worthless to try and work together with because these differences are exploited by said government and corporations and they will listen to nothing else.

That fact that you dismiss it as something not worth pointing out shows that it is most likely you who doesn't get it.

You still don't get it. This thread is about the illusion that people have brought into of two political parties. You agree with the OP statements. THEN you participate in the very thing the OP says is happening to us. Why are you still SEPARATING people with your scope on socialism?

You are merely continuing the illusion that tptb want....socialism vs conservatism. I subscribe to neither and both at the same time. I realize that neither ideology is the reason for the hard times we've fallen into.

Where did I advocate for socialism? Why was the word socialism anywhere in your reply?

Like I said you should look up my other posts and see how ridiculous you sound. Forced socialism/fascism/corporatism is not an illusion and it is responsible in large part for what has happened to us, You are right socialism vs conservatism is an illusion because the so called conservatives are socialist too. I generally don't like labels either as they are exploited to divide however we have to speak in terms people know.

The OP was about the false paradigm or exploitation of it yes but that does not mean we put our fingers in our ears and sing la la la la la.... and ignore real problems. Only a fool would not acknowledge there are some profound ideological differences in people, the key is to not let TPTB exploit them into the left right paradigm and to try and focus on what we have in common instead.

for example I don't believe government has a right to steal in the name of doing good, I am always going to have a problem with people who advocate that so i reached out to them and said look if we want to work together why not agree that social programs should be funded voluntarily instead of through stealing? if you believe so profoundly in your program why not let it stand or fall on it own instead of forcing people to it? I found they could care less and these are people on the supposed left and right. I point that out because no matter how much we see through the facade we have a majority of people who do not and think they are on one side or the other when they are all doing the same thing; stealing from thier neighbor. Until we overcome that just claiming the left v right paradigm is over will do little to bring us together

Corporations? Let's be specific here. It's the banks! THEY run the show. While the Federal Reserve Bank remains privately-held, we will all be slaves to the moneymakers.

Thanks to fractional reserve banking, they make up the money out of thin air, loan it out at interest, and we pay it back through our taxes. The Federal Reserve is as federal as Federal Express.

Watch this for more info video.google.com...#

It's a bit long, but VERY interesting!

you have to revise the paradigm - it's liberal corp. vs conservative corp.
- liberal corp. + conservative corp. vs. you.

The corporations play both sides, they pull both party's puppet strings so they can work behind the scenes.

Your right but we still need to vote.... Even if we understand the left and right are just two faces in one, we still need to vote on who we think will be the better of the two evils. Even being woken up to the fact you can vote libertarian, or support SOMEBODY, someone is still making the laws and we need to have caution who is putting these laws into place... Just look at the war started with bush the dems backed him 100% i'm not dumb i see right through it I hope MOST people do. Still you need to figure out who you can vote for that holds your view points and values the best who you think can still do a little good.

Quite the opposite really. Voting for the "lesser of two evils" is a term I hear used by weak people. People too afraid to take an actual stand and say "This society is horribly wrong and it must better itself now." The same people who accept the lesser of two evils that I have talked to tend to also verbally state that they enjoy their bliss in ignorance...that they rather be strapped in than break free and see reality. This kind of person is of no threat or concern to the government and to our own corrupted view of self and world.

In order to fight corporate corruption we should seperate real from percieved value in all products and items we purchase.
Only buy things that we need, things that last and things that actually have a value on them other than POPULARITY. It should have great usefulness in addition to the plain and simple fact "you want it."
"You want it" only means their advertising pitch aimed at you hit it's mark.

Do not purchase things because
..this is the newest version
..this is so popular
..all the kids are wearing
..my friend has
..I saw it on TV
..that looks so good

If a food item does not have NUTRITION in it you are throwing money away. You still have to buy the FOOD ITEMS that offer you the nutrition your body needs because if not - you die - and some corporation pushing candy, chips and happy meals makes a bundle off your slow and steady path to death.

Now is that right?
Should that be allowed to happen?
Decide what you need to live.
Buy those things ONLY and leave the rest by the curb.

Soon the money you save will GROW AND BE WORTH much more than the useless, karma killing, body sapping junk, you will otherwise accumulate, take in, eat, or look at.

I was reading a topic on ATS not to long ago revealing the coporate interest of the politics within America, I'm glad this is being emphasized over and over again until you guys get it. Americans please wake up and reform your political system, it is so typical that the almighty dollar , so obvious. That isn't right and true justice and democracy will never prevail in such an environment.

Thanks for starting this thread.

Anybody who has discussed serious issues like 9/11 or the wars currently going on or even things in general like the economic and political history of the US will know that there has always been an element of corporatism in American life.

Sometimes in the past corporatism has been rampant, but not to the extent where one could say that it was anything more than a manifestation of massive greed on the part of the "robber barons" and their ilk. The appearance of a Franklen Delano Roosevelt and a program like the "New Deal" with its heavy job creation and spending on infrastructure was still possible in the United States. . . . Now things are different.

Now you have an all out attempt to secure a lock on overall control of the society, no matter how the elections turn out. Obama's cabinet and advisors, important ones among them, still have their "Vote George Bush" T-shirts in their drawers.

This phenomenon is how a "one party state" is created, in the garb of the old eternal battle of elephant and donkey in the US. People are dumb enough to believe that this old established paradigm still prevails, and it might, on small inconsequential issues.

On the big issues, particularly the big financial and foreign and domestic policy issues, welcome to the new fascism, not the jackboot in your face Nazi-style fascism that you were watching out for, but the new, "the country is strong", "the economy is strong", "go out and get shopping", "bail us out when we eff up" and don't ask a lot of embarrassing questions fascism. Everything is alright. Keep smiling, like me. This is the new style "Smiley Face" fascism.

Everybody is a brand. Everybody is "onboard".

I used to like to listen to sports talk on the radio, but not any more. With few exceptions (thanks Bill Watters in Toronto), it's all about branding and contracts and corporatism/fascism now. Entertainment news is the same, branding, branding, branding. Art is gone as a subject matter. Social commentary is gone. The only news that fits is "profit and loss".

Don't get me wrong. I believe in business, but we are going off the deep end with it and need to regulate these people again and get them the hell out of our ordinary lives, and particularly our democratic processes.

I'm positive that most politicians are earnest in their workings, but those in true power could care less about them. They are but puppets, strung along in the grand scheme of things: Force feed the working class consumables (which we both produce AND consume, convenient eh?), pipe the profit to the investors, and roll the rest back into political campaigns to keep the cycle agoing. Left/Right is nothing but an illusion, kept in place to keep us distracted from the obvious hamster wheel we've got ourselves caught in.

...

And how would you propose we fix it? Its not just America. Its the world in general. Every corner of the globe is infiltrated with McDonalds, Walmart, Iphones/Ipods, Crappy TV/Movies, Shopping malls, and the like. Everyone has bought into the Hollywood belief that they NEED these things. Don't blame the U.S. Blame yourselves for being so gullible.
