Remember when Petro Canada was federally owned......Hummmm......We are so busy at providing for others and trying to make a profit that we seem to forget that we can almost survive on our own resources......The tar sands, hydro electricity and a growing wind farm, energy should not be a problem for Canada at all but alas....Greed and politics are involved.....

As Fox stated, this is posturing. There is going to be a HUGE amount of oil/natural gas developed in the north in the next 25 years. There's 5 nations vying for it. Canada and Russia both making claims. Putin's just trying to show that he has the right, or the military right.

no not really but it is time to better manage and use our resources, I'm not big on government intruding in the free market but I would love to see a company like Petro Canada not be taxed on condition of a greener program and resources going to Canadians at a fair market price.

There are ways of working the system without draining the middle class pocket. Encourage small businesses all the way up to multinational corporation to establish themselves here in Canada, lets say,TAX free, on strict environmental conditions and employment.
