There have been ufo reports of things sounding like old washing machines, very loud lawn mowers, and all kinds of odd sounds... the bulk of reports there's no sound at all..

I can't locate yet the old report that speaks about one sounding like an old 2 cylinder tractor... those have a thump, thump, thump sound...

I wouldn't worry too much, and I really don't think you will be hurt by whatever it is..

If you have any recording devices , or a video camera, run them when you hear this, maybe you can get the sound of it recorded, even if you can't see anything...

Robbo,

The last thing you need when this crap is going on right here is a website.

Thanks.

I've had the same thing for about a month, i thought it was tinnitus, but my ears don't feel blocked. It got to the stage where I've started unplugging all utilities because i though the hum was coming from the electric. It's worst during the night and it's been disruptive to my sleeping patterns.

Excellent point.

Our local pub has a washing machine upstairs from the bar, when its going, even with the dukebox on, it sounds like the beach scene from Apocolypse Now!

I know i have my washing machine on all hours of the night, and like i said, noise travels far at night.

Hey, thanks for that reply,

But it really sounded like a milking machine - and that is taking something out of you.

Or putting something into you.

The hum started in march 2000, I kept waking to the sound of a truck idle sound outside the house, It took a few days to realise it wasn't engine noise. A few weeks ago i lost the hum when the CME hit the planet. But now it is coming back. The best way to deal with it is to use the hum to put yourself to sleep.

Mine was not a hum.

It was a whirring and a thump.

Which I experienced 2 nights ago and which I am scared of.

Ahh so it did just sound like the milking machine then?

I totally know what those sound like, and it guess it would be pretty strange to hear that out in the street

I would try not to worry and keep listening for a repeat performance...

It is kind of important though to get a recording of this if possible , if it happens again..

Lasting a full 10 minutes is also a bit strange..when nothing is visible

I wonder if anyone else in your town reported this... maybe you can find out more about it soon from other people...

Cheers

Hi Catwhoknows,

Having not heard the sound it might seem easy for me to say, but you really shouldn't be afraid - I'm sure there's a prosaic answer - police helicopter in the distance, maintenance work, parked refrigeration truck parked up....? As other posters have pointed out - sound can travel a long way at night.

Also, we can be our own worst enemy when it comes to fear...

Peace!

Cat i can't stress enough the importance of getting a checkup with your doctor. Make shure you are healthy, For instance the hum can effect blood pressure and pulse, Deal with this first and then deal with wether or not you are a member of the hum club.

Yeah, plenty of reasons are this.

It is either the government doing brainwashing.

Or it is aliens doing brainwashing.

Someone is doing brainwashing.

And it is not good for us.

Thank you to all you people who think I need to see a doctor.

Can you please explain these loud REAL noises at 1 am in a quiet street to a sober person?

OK, now, please step aside.

Thanks,

I am relaxed except for this fact.

Some people think I am lying. To those people, I wish you that experience.

Why would I post if I was lying?

Don't be frightened of the hum, As i said before use the hum to your advantage, The hum is there all the time but is heard louder once you lay down to go to sleep, The hum seems to alternate in frequency but it is your breathing that makes it appear to alternate. So i lay there and just listen to the hum. When i first noticed the noise i put ear plugs in my ears thats when i realised that it isn't an engine near by.

Don’t be a scaredy cat!
Find a bit of backbone.
Why didn’t you go out and investigate?
Milking machines aren’t dangerous!

Perhaps it was aliens,
Needing milk for their coffee!
Then dropping cow off, with a thump!
