If your world view is Naturalism (which includes antitheism, atheism, agnosticism, and existentialism) and you subscribe to no objective absolute moral values, and man is just a chance product of random biological evoltional primorial soup material, then you got no integity if you had any moral/emotional outrage aftr watching this video. NO INTEGRITY.

What happened is the puppies who are not advanced evolutional life forms were thrown into the river by a more advanced life form. Both the girl and puppies are not responsible for what happened, it was predetermined eons ago.

Codswallop. I'm a naturalist, and you are wrong.

You're mixing up naturalism with Social Darwinism, a repugnant social philosophy allied to Nazism.

The same evolutionary processes you invoke to explain the power the girl had over the puppies also gave us empathy and moral feelings. They are there for a purpose--an evolutionary purpose--and it is entirely right and proper--in naturalistic terms--that we should respond as we do.

As for determinism: well, if it makes nonsense of all moral distinctions, then it is nonsense to say that someone has no 'integrity'. Integrity, too, is a moral quality.

In fact, our moral nature is determined just as all other aspects of our nature are determined. What do you make of that?

Oh, I'm happy to be your respected foe, just as long as you don't expect any respect in return. What you did in your OP has a word for it: pornoviolence. I don't respect purveyors of pornoviolence.

I may get (some of) my entertainment from the internet, but my entertainment doesn't consist of watching little girls drown puppies. That's the difference. Still, chacun à son gout.

Whatever happened to putting up a classifieds ad in the paper with each dog selling for $250 each? Ugh, this girl is ruining a profit as well as her reputation.

It is still unbelievable why someone would film this act and then upload it online it it seems to be some really unsettling people were up to this and they need to be reprimanded.

I see your one of these people that wade into a discussion without bothering the look into it, if you had bothered to read any of the post here you would infact have noticed (possibly not from way up were you are) that none of what I have written in anyway relates to watching as you simplistically call 'pornoviolence'. This was posted with the express intent of highlighting a growing problem in society with people especially youth, that relates not only to our interaction with animals but also each other. So please in simplistic terms' pull your head out of your arse' before acting superior to anyone and don't try insulting people for having differing opinions than yourself that you feel may be beneath you

I also think that the girl saved money by not involving a profesional killer for her baby puppies, namely a Doctor of VM.

With this money she saved sha will be preventing further animal cruelty.

She will be able to use the money for a better pair of gloves and a new five gallon bucket.

Plus plenty to spare on food for the rest of the family and the mother dog.

ha, her head's to small for a ten gallon hat!
but seriously it's not the act so much (although personally I find that abhorrent) but the fact that she is obviously enjoying hurting something that realy disturbs me

In the situation I would give her the benefit of the doubt, and say she was using a nervous laugh to dispel the sadness she was feeling for having to do the dirty job.

Just died a little inside...

Someone dress up as a dog, sneak up from behind this girl and throw her into the river. I'll volunteer, if someone pays for my tickets to Bosnia, or wherever the hell this vile human being lives.

Hate to break it to you but this has been going on for ahwile. Unwanted kittens or puppies get drowned.

My town is so savage that people take ferral cats and tie them to a fence and use them as a tool to sick their fighting pit bull on.

My friend saw them do it to a pregnant cat. IF that doesn't make you hurl, I don't know what does.

A friend used to drive out to the reservations and get the kittens and puppies that were thrown into the landfills.

Maybe take these threads to a forum that specialized in animals and abuse?

the main reason why i hate her actions isnt just the abuse of an animal...
the main reason for me beeing upset is...the point that someone filmed that..
thinking its funny and have to be filmed..im sure noone in that video even think about that its wrong...what they doing..seems its normal for them..

thats what upset me

Oh, yes, yes!

If you had bothered to read any of the post here you would infact have noticed (possibly not from way up were you are) that none of what I have written in anyway relates to watching as you simplistically call 'pornoviolence'.

I read the excuses, yes.

This was posted with the express intent of highlighting a growing problem in society with people especially youth.

'Growing problem'? If you had lived in any other time but the present you would have seen a great deal more cruelty to animals, both casual and institutionalized, and the same would have gone for people. There is no growing problem; the scandal of factory-farming aside, we live in the most humane age this planet has ever seen.

So that particular excuse won't wash, I'm afraid.

Try a different one.

I agree, the puppies was bad enough, I refuse to watch the poor dog thrown from the bridge.

Enough with these videos - yes I already know there are a lot of mentally sick people out there.

While we are on the subject of animals............I have a spider story.

1) I hate spiders, big ones, I really hate.

Yesterday I was out in the garden - now that my job has been outsourced to "Team India" I'm going to have a hell of a garden.

Anyway, I'm chopping down and digging out weeds like a crazy when I come across this beautiful web and a big furry spider standing near his/her web looking up at me with his/her eight little eyes. I swear, and this is a shock - the darn thing looked at me with a actual expression on it's face like, please don't destroy my home, I just got done building it and it took a lot of hard work, please don't.

So now, I'm sharing my garden with a big fat furry Wolf Spider.

Drowning is painful, getting a shot by a vet and floating out isn't.

I've been with one of my dogs when he had to be "put asleep" and it was a peaceful death.

Also there is such a thing as reverence for life.

Any person that disregards that sacred right is a lost soul, or perhaps doesn't even really have a soul.

Personally, I'de rather live with many of the dogs that I have known then most humans.

The key factor here folks is reverence for life. Some of us have this quality and some of us don't.

Life is sacred and those that have a disregard for the sacredness of it are a sad exsample of a "human being". They in my opinion are like zombies, awake and walking but their hearts and souls are are dead.

Nice story lol

I also dislike spiders and over the years have had to flatten them with rolled newspaper or flush them away down the plughole... especially the fast daddy long leg ones...

small ones i can usually catch in a jar and chuck them outside....

Not too sure how i'd react to a big Tarantula crawling around..

All you sickos that wanted to kill her should be drowned. What was the poor girl supposed to do? I have no idea why it was filmed but from the reactions in this thread, I like dogs better than people.

I think you are somewhat missing the point here. It is not necessarily an argument of what is being killed, it is an argument as to how.

Meat processing factories usually use a "some-what-humane" way of culling the livestock/poultry by way of stunning and other methods.

What this girl is doing is completely inhumane, and thoughtless. It is absolute animal cruelty, and not acceptable.

Please suggest an alternate killing method for a poor Bosnian girl to use.

So, the outrage over puppy drownings (yes, it's disgusting) mobilizes an international movement via the Internet to track down 2 kids in Bosnia, but that same vehicle can't summon the outrage to make a difference in all of the areas that are rife with serious, genuine, dire suffering, death and disease - not to mention fraud, corruption and well, the list goes on.... How truly upside down this world has become.

Example:
Brazilian Indians Bury Children

Outrage? International or otherwise? Where's the Internet hit-squad for this?

I'm with you Lady. People have their priorities all screwed up. They throw the baby out with the bathwater.

I said IF I lived on a farm. And those puppies weren't sick. My son had a hamster once and it got mites. It was practically eating itself and in a lot of pain. Sure...it's just a hamster and I could have drowned it to put it out of it's misery. I don't have a lot of money but believe me or not I paid the vet to put a HAMSTER to sleep. So when I say that I could never do that to the puppies...believe me I wouldn't

You can see in the video that they are sick. One of them seemed already dead.
