Light and sound are very powerful stimuli, and in turn cause more electrochemical response within the brain.
Often powerful light and sound combinations can actually entrain the brain to follow a particular pattern.
A strobe light flashing at 10 Hz will often entrain brain waves to its frequency.
The frequency and various elements of the strobe have to be just right to work

I seriously think the purpose of this movie is to hypnotize people. To prep them for project bluebeam and such. I'm thinking about standing outside the theatres handing out warnings until I get told to leave.

A person must be a willing participant in order to be hypnotized. If people are aware of their sinister motives, they might not allow themselves to be manipulated in such a way. Be conscious and be very aware of the subliminals if you watch this movie.

Considering that the alien craft and energy rays are BLUE, I see how one could argue this is a conditioning of sorts for Project Bluebeam.

Or the writers of the screenplay kind of worked that idea into the movie for marketing reasons.
