I am a Tsgt. in the United States Air Force. I am a tactical air command and control specialist, otherwise known as TACP. I have served in both Iraq and Afghanistan for many tours. I deploy out with Army units, Special Forces, Rangers, SEALS, etc etc etc. I have been in the s*%@ and have seen a lot of stuff go down. You people act like they are so peaceful. Well the truth is that every single insurgents that attacks US troops would be just as happy cutting your head off because you are not a child of Islam. They are very religious over there and the insurgents are called "extremists" and they believe that anyone not of the same religion deserves to die basically. So that means YOU as well as us.

Terrorism will never die and will never go away but we are making a dent, believe what you want to believe but we are making a difference in both of these countries.

man, there are bad people everywhere in the world, in EVERY SINGLE GROUP

just because some people that may or not may be in a country are bad, that doesnt mean you can go into that country and kill a culture, kill a life style, kill part of society, kill everything they know

and by doing that, creating hate and more insurgents

so really, EVERYBODY gets abused every single day, but that doesnt mean it gives you the right to start shooting everybody, just because they are around the abusers ...

I have read your last post and disagree with it. The Apache video isn't as cut and dry as you think. Does it show the true horror of war? Yes and the rules of engagement at that time are questionable. And for the remark about bad parenting and you shouldn't take your kids into a war zone. The whole country is a war zone. The gunning down of that van is perhaps the most damning part of the video. No hostility was shown by the driver nor its occupants.

For every insurgent you kill, 5 more will take their place. You aren't making much of a dent if it creates MORE insurgents, MORE chaos, MORE violence.

You tried your best to defend yourself and the military industrial complex's actions there.

But it is not you to be doing the defending, for you were just a simple pawn in the bigger stakes. Even if you were the machine gunner who mowed down the lives of the innocent, the ultimate blame lies not in you, for wars do terrible things to humans, to the enemy and to yourself.

You were only fighting an idealism, a radicalised one that no amount of bullets can stop. You will have to kill everyone there, but in the end, was that the purpose you signed up for? And what would that have made you - a hero or pyschopathic killer of your own race - fellow humans?

You had achieved nothing worthwhile, stopped nothing destructive as the shias and sunnis now freely muscle for power, and your mind contaiminated by savagery no human should be exposed to, a throwback to the barbarism that mankind had sought so much to be elevated above from.

Step back, my brother, the killing of your fellow brothers must end - americans, jews and arabs against each other. There are more of rational us than the radicalized them from corporations, political leadership and religions.

some people didnt have math ... some people cant think straight ...

lets imagine right now, that some country started to invade the US, so they could kill all the people with blue eyes

if they kill your child, what would you do? you would fight back ... if they killed your family, or someone you knew, you would do the same

thats what the US is doing, they are attacking a subgroup by attacking a whole nation, that doesnt make sense and just create more hate

You should research how many soldiers are not telling the same story... It is because they were under a crappy commander who basically like Captain America from Generation Kill the mini-series. There are stupid people in the military and they sometimes do stupid things... bottom line. If you want to know what it is really like then join up and go see. Hell you dont even have to join up. Go be a journalist and go report it. Dont sit back here and tell a veteran that he doesnt know what he is talking about, hell I have only been over there since 2001....... But what do I know

Believe me when I say your perspective is valuable, because it is, but you need to stop writing in such a hostile way. You know that there are TONS of terrorists cells in America and England RIGHT NOW?? CAuse there are..... We are preventing further attacks on us. We have already foiled around 10 major acts in the planning but you wouldnt have heard about that because you dont have a clearance. We do this by taking and ceasing assets, plans, money, weapons, and training locations.
